I'm 5'10 1/2 and around 140 pounds. I have a photo shoot coming up pretty soon and I'd like to drop a few pounds ( healthly) before hand. Does anyone have any advice. I have a few exercise dvd's but i was thinking about taking up running in the morning. any ideas?

Walking/Jogging/Running are all great. If you haven't been running, you might want to start off walking, and slowly incorporate running (such as 10 minutes) into your routine. Walking for an hour can provide almost the same benefits as running for 20 minutes. When walking, be sure to keep a pace that gets your heart rate up. However, don't get discouraged if you don't drop a few pounds right away. People sometimes gain pounds due to the muscle they are building, but they look slimmer as the toned muscles always look better than fat. Even if the scale doesn't say what you want, running or walking will have you looking and feeling better.

Running is awesome, swimming is great as well. Depending on how much you need to lose you may want to try and do what wrestlers do and just try and sweat it out, you can drop a pretty decent amount of weight but make sure that you re-hydrate. Just go running or stationary biking with a whole bunch of layers and go in a sauna.

Walking and yoga are more effective that running, or look into doing a form of social dancing in your area, (folk, contra, ballroom, etc.). Monitor your diet by taking the refined sugar products out. Eat mostly fruits, vegetables and whole grain products. Lastly, wear tight clothes so it will discourage overeating.

There was a girl at my church who competed in the Steve Harvey weight loss challenge. Towards the end of the contest her results began to diminish. Then all of a sudden she began to lose weight again. When asked what she did---she signed up for online fitness training at http://www.fitnessgenerator.com/realfitnessresults I actually know a few other people who have great results with them.
