My boyfriend wants to join the Air Force. Can I live with him where he is stationed, and how often can he visit me? How long do you serve to get college credits?

basic training and technical school (job-training) are all turned into credits toward a CCAF degree (community college of the air force). Anyone in the air force can get a valid two year degree specified to their career field- usually within 3 years. CCAF is just like any community college in which you need to complete a certain number of humanities, english, etc.

Also, you can live near your bf. However, you wont' be able to see him during basic training, nor for the first weeks of his tech school. Every tech school is different. I would call a recruiter when you find out more info.

you may choose to live wherever you darn well please. HE< however, may not have the option to live off base. You may not live in base housing unless you were married. he will not be able tolive anywhere but the Barracks, and you may not stay there either. College credits are earned sometimes simply for completing basic training and any Schooling. How much he would earn would depend on the schooling and how it translates with whatever college he chooses to credit them with. He will also have the opportunity to earn more through online courses, additional schooling, or even taking actual college classes in his off duty times( Command approval needed to do this).

Everybody earns 30 days of leave per year. However, when he can take it will depend on the command. he will not be able to take any at all until he finishes all of his schooling(basic and AIT). If he gets to his first duty station, and it is about to deploy, he will not be able to take it. Plus being the new guy, he will be the lowest priority.

In other words, nothing is set in stone, expect it to be several months, maybe as long as a year, before he will be able to take any time off. Most commands do shut down for the two weeks between Christmas and New year's.

If he isn't married you probably won't be able to live with him. Cause new bees stay in the barracks If you get married you will be able to get into base housing. He can decide to move out and off base. Then at that point you can live with him. He gets 30 days of leave a year. You get about 5 collage credits in boot camp. Then it depends what classes or schools he goes too. If you two are ready get married before he goes in. Then you can follow him any were. 30 days a year isn't much for a relationship.

Your b/f won't get any college credits for being in the Air Force. You can live in an apartment off base wherever he will be stationed. I doubt he will be able to live off base with you though. When he gets to his Permanant duty station you will see him alot. His job with the Air Force will be just like any other job.

Maybe you can live with him and maybe you can't. He has no idea where he's going to be stationed. Since you are not married he will not be given a housing allowance. He'll have to serve 4 years to get covered by the GI Bill.

You can live off base together. You get college credits for all of your training.
