It is dairy, so it has some calcium. It also has bacteria in it that helps prevent bacterial infections such as yeast infections.

When I was little, I used to get a lot of ear infections and other lovely things that required antibiotics. My mom always made sure I ate yogurt while I was on these antibiotics to help keep my "good" bacteria levels up in my intestines. I'm sure it had to do with the live active cultures that many yogurts have.

If you eat a quality organic yogurt it is a good food. The little candy yogurts are less then worthless.

I'm not sure, but I do know that for 1 month I ate just yogert and drank water and I lost 10 lbs.
