Nearly all bottled water is just re-processed tap water. The down side is that bottled-water companies are so successful at producing a clean, safe, cheap product that some governments don't even feel responsible for making their tap water clean any more.

Not much to wonder about, it's on the side of the bottle. If it's spring water it'll say where the source is. If it's Dasani, it's tap water that's been filtered.
