Dogs typically bark. This is something they do.

Mine is a 2 year old Border Collie and she use to bark all the time. But I went out side with her at night when she did her business and then brought her back in the house and she began sleeping in the house. After about a month she stopped all her barking and felt safe by being in the house at night.
My Vet Trainer said some dogs need to feel they are needed and need a lot of attention and that is all she needed was to know she was loved. So she now has become an indoor dog. and things are quite now.

It might depend on where he is sleeping during the night. The barking could be a way to let you know that he doesnt like it where he is at. If he isnt sleeping in your room with you it could be that he is afraid of being alone. It could even be that he is afraid of the dark. Try putting on a few small lights near where he is. Another thing i have noticed with my dogs in the past is that leaving a radion on during the night could help because they have to hear some sort of noise.try some of these things out and see if they at least help. Once you know the problem it's easier to fix it.

Maybe u should check and see what he is barking at then if nothing is there call the vet. and if you don't want to do that let him stay in your room or a different room with some one because he might just want company.

He seems to be bored during the day and sleeping. Have you ever tried to go from day shift to night shift? He is having a hard time keeping himself entertained during the day, but is all rested up when you are ready to go to bed. Doggy day care might be ok, but you need to give him an awful lot of attention when you come home, or it is you not sleeping and him, yeah sleeping a lot..

Probably neither did your neighbors. Take him in the house at night or you will end up with citations for disturbing the peace and animal control may even come and take him if you get too many complaints from your neighbors.
