most of the times cops are ex-bullies or ex-military that say they protect and serve. Most did not graduate from college and are strictly trained to kill, not real good at anything else, so they take the easy route, become a cop or join the army. not real tough to join either. I actually know a retarded kid that went to my school. The messed up thing is that he is now a cop in Athens. This was the kid in school that stalked the girls and everyone could tell had a few screws loose. what kind of requirments do they have anyways? the army is desperate and the cops are corrupt is all i can come up with...

Police enforce the laws created for the UK, whoever infringes them.

The army provides security against a foreign force, but can be called upon to support the police in a civil disturbance if things get out of hand.

the police conduct law and order for the civilian population. the military provide for the national defense. federal troop do not have any civil authrity. meaning they can arrest you unless you are on federal property.
