I own a sonic toothbrush and I'll be honest, I really do think it is 100 times better than a normal toothbrush. Every once in a while, I'll go back to just a regular toothbrush and you can just feel the difference.
I have owned a sonic for 2 years now and I have not had a cavity since. Seriously, my teeth are cleaner, less plaque, and slippery! LOL They are wonderful! You honestly won't know until you try one but once you do, you'll never look back.
I am a big fan of them!

I own and have used both the Braun electric and the Soniccare sonic brushes. I believe the Braun does a much better job. I have read that the sonic really does not brush and I can understand why. It looks cool on TV when they put the brush in water and it bubbles but the sonic energy is muted or damped as soon as you put it against your teeth. So what you are actually getting is a buzzing regular toothbrush. Go for the Braun rotating brush it works very well.

I have been using Sonicare toothbrush for the past 5 years. When I first started to use it I noticed the difference within a week. When I visited my dentist after 3 months of using it she could tell that I was using a sonicare toothbrush. I did not have to visit the hygienist for removal of plaque. Over the past 5 years the toothbrush has paid for itself and most importantly, for me, less time in the dental chair. Once you have used one you just won't want any other brush. Thumbs up for Sonicare. By the way I don't get paid for recommending them.

Yes, every dentist I know says they are great and you will get less cavities. I got one and they were all right, I used to get cavities and had gum issues but now my teeth are great!
My sister is a dental hygenist and she told me Sonicare is the best one - gentle enough but cleans teeth and gums. It also has a timer on it (it beeps when you have brushed 25 seconds for a total of 2 minutes) so you know how long you should be brushing, I realized I didn't brush long enough. Great product for the price. Everyone in my family has one now. Forget the high dental bills! Good luck!

Consumer Reports found the Sonicare no better at removing plaque than several manual brushes. What matters most is technique and time invested in brushing, not whether a brush is sonic. Perhaps if people are getting better results with their sonic brushes it's because they have inspired them to develop a better technique. It's called the "fun factor". If brushing is more fun, people will do it longer and try harder to brush better.

Just got one and I think they do. Thought the electric didn't really clean my teeth any better than a good brushing with the manual.

Ordinary toothbrush....believe it or not (and most dentists will tell you) that an ordinary brush gets the job done better! I'm a dental assistant and I work in a dental school...I've heard it a million times!
