That is so weird. When I bought mine it smelled like crayons too. I bought it from a little old lady so I thought that was why. I have a 2000 Jetta, the smell went away in a few months though, after I started using the heat often.

My mother-in-law has a `01 Beetle that smells like crayons as well. The best conclusion we could come up with was the leather treatment used on the seats. If you have leather seats as well, that's probably it. And on the other note, iTunes doesn't have every song by every artist. Sometimes they don't even have complete albums by an artist.

the reason it smells like crayons is not from the leather or anyother part in the car, but the glue used to hold down the insolation under the shift boot / auto trans. area IS the cause of the smell. www.vwvortex.com SEARCH IT

I don't know about the crayons, but about the lennon song, no one likes anything having to do with yoko except her husbands music. So I guess its an attempt to erase her from society.

every Volkswagen I've been in smells like a box of crayons!! you can smoke, spray perfume, fart, anything! And it will still smell like crayons!!!
