I've been reading about all the "help" the provide to their illegal emigrants to cross the border safely. I personally think this is wrong on their part, since instead of trying to fix the problem, they are only making it easier for Mexicans to come illegally. We are seeing a game of interests here, the more people working in the USA, the more money Mexico receives. That's why I believe something has to be IMMEDIATELY done about illegal immigration. We may disagree on what to do, but I believe mass deportation is only going to make things worse. I believe amnesty should selectively be given to those who have shown to adapt and behave, all the criminals and useless scum should be deported, and the borders should be secured 1000%. Also improving the legal immigration system would help A LOT, making it easier for people to come in legally would decrease the amount of people trying to sneak in.

Entering the US is not like robbing a bank or like raping someone. It is most similar to going twenty over the speed limit. The fine for entering the US is around $125. The fine for working without a permit is around $1000. In this sense, working without a permit is similar to driving without a license.

I agree with everything Siervocal has said. Just remember that the system has been broken for twenty years, you are not going to fix it through wishful thinking.

Well that is a start but let's not forget about the scum we have on this side of the border like ANTONIO VILLARAIGOSA, JOE BACA, NATIVO LOPEZ, et al.

These guys are just an extension of the corrupt Mexican government.

Problem with your "plan" is it does not work.

"I believe amnesty should selectively be given to those who have shown to adapt and behave, all the criminals and useless scum should be deported......"

How do you determine that? you have to evaluate on a case by case basis. How long do you suppose that will take? How much money do you think that will cost? The last amnesty was 3 million people. The government was overwhelmed. Now we are talking about 12 to 20 million!!! Do some more research and you will see the amnesty plan is not workable but the deportation plan is. No determination to be made as to who "adapted" and who "behaved". Either you are here legally or you are not.

The problem gets solved when the people of Mexico become on a "par" with the people of the United States. The immigration problem then goes away all by itself because there is no reason to leave. This can be accomplished if the people of Mexico demand the rights of their government instead of coming here and demanding rights of our government.

Let's deport them all and then, as a nation, DEMAND that Mexico solve this problem.

Yes, Mexico does need to stop helping those cross the border. But you must say that deportation will mean a lot less money being sent back to Mexico, and on the other hand, maybe just maybe it will make all those sent back, band togather and fight. We need to keep in mind that amnesty never has worked, and as far as criminals, where do we draw the line ? Most have broken the law more than just one time, the first by being here illegally, but then they in mosy cases went one to use fake or stolen IDs, and SS cards. So for all of you saying, give them amnesty, where do we draw the line ?

Ahhh Be still my heart ,you are seeing the problem. That alone gives me faith in the fact that all people can see a problem with Mexico and the fact that it facilitates the illegals to enter the USA illegally.
But again wouldn't selective amnesty place a heavy burden on the people that have done things the legal way and waited to enter into this nation via legal means. The people that have circumvented our laws are getting preferential treatment over the people that are doing things the legal way. What kind of message does that send to the people all over the world?

We can deport illegal aliens,it would be a systematic deportation over a period of time.If we can move a hundred thousand of our military all over the world in a matter of days or weeks then this would be a snap to accomplish. We must not reward law breakers.

How would mass deportation make things worse? We are not going to deport 12 million (or however many there are) people at one time. It would happen gradually.

If we did give selective amnesty, the illegals who got deported would still be complaining that it isn't fair.

The power to make Mexican Government bend our way is for our virtue filled government. The "why buy the cow if the milk is FREE free free." mentality if the Mexican nationals that come here. The impact on our economy is looked at all wrong. We are talking about labor for less and the living conditions. The people who we talk to are sending money to their family. This is where I am going... If you take half your money home the money is out of circulation in the US. The cost is not that they pay taxes and it stays here. The cost is that the money stops moving around our economy and the trickle down to our public does not generate tax and stays out of our wallet for us to spend here. The only money we can count on is the money we take, The rest will leave our economy.

No amnesty!

If enough people keep robbing banks, will you say that we shouldn't prosecute them and let them keep what they've stolen? After all, they just want a better life for their family, right? Isn't that the same argument?

We gave blanket amnesty to three million illegals, and it did not solve our problem. It only allowed them to bring in twenty million more!

They are criminals. They are stealing money from every hard-working American citizen. Why is it ok to steal from me because you want a better life? If you have a better life than I do, can I please have some of your money?

i agree with some of what you say. no to amnesty. it is not right to the immigrants that payed to be here legally. and are money will still go to Mexico. the ones who become legal will have family over there that are not legal, and they will continue to send money to their family's.

Our government aint doing so great either. If our governments were doing their jobs we would all be better off. Also if big corporations werent so greedy we would be better off. None seems to have a solution,If America would just inforce our laws it would be all it would take, but noone seems to want to take charge of the cituation. We all need new great leaders.

If they are illegal, deport them. No amnesty. If they see that if they come here, they will just be deported, less will come. Deport them all if they are illegal. We are a nation of laws, and by damn we must stick to them.
