I can't give you a 'sure-fire' way (wish I could, I'd make millions and we'd save at minimum thousands of lives).
What I can suggest - combat the things that makes smoking addictive:
1. Nicotine - Try the patch or gum, it can help lessen the really bad cravings.
2. "Bored Habit" - Carry candy with you, or better yet celery. Chew on when you want to do something with your hands.
3. "Nervous Habit" - Same thing as bored, just need something that will keep you occupied. A 'spinning ring' works wonders, a ring on your finger with a free-spinning ring around it. Keeps your fingers busy.
4. Will Power - Find the reason you REALLY want to quit, and make it your mantra each time you get a craving. (I want to live see my grandkids someday, etc.) You have to really want to quit to quit, and if you don't 'really REALLY want to', then I'd suggest some soul searching until you do.
5. Uncategorized - Reward yourself with the money you save, calcuate it out. Maybe save up towards a big screen TV, or something that you'd NEVER get otherwise. Each time you resist a craving, think of what you'll get with the money after a certain amount of time.
6. Social Habit - Find a good friend to quit with, or even one who doesn't smoke. Works best if they are trying to change a habit too, you can encourage each other.
Good luck, you can do it!

I am 27 going on 28 this year and like many of my friends was lured into smoking at a very early age. (13) All through my teens and throughout my early 20’s. One day I woke up and just decided to quit at the ripe old age of 22 lol. It was as if someone flipped a switch in my head and that someone was me! If you use words like “Try” and “Maybe” you will be unsuccessful in your “attempt” to quit smoking. You have to really want it! You’ll know you quit when you quit. The craving’s go away in like 2 weeks. Get lots of gum and some of your favorite snacks. It’s the best thing you could ever do for yourself. So to sum this up and answer your question… Will Power. I now run 2 miles every day and it feels great. I wish you the best of luck friend.

Hi,
I really empathise with you, I quit my 20 a day habit in a pain-free way this time last year!
No stress, no cravings, no weight gain, no pills, patches or gums.
The program I followed was recommended by a friend and now boasts a 90% success rate and is 100% fully guaranteed - can't say fairer than that
All the best..

sorry-there's no sure fire way. There's also not one program that works best for everyone.
Statistics show nicotine replacement programs have a lower rate of success than cold turkey programs. My theory is that with the patch for example so much attention is placed on the physical addiction when the psychological aspect is far more challenging.
The best program I have found is FREE!
whyquit.com
I highly reccomend the daily videos that walk you through the first two weeks.

See your doctor about prescribing patches and possibly a med such as welbutrin to assist with the cravings. I know there is a medicine out there now that can calm cravings and lower the effects of nicotine withdrawal as well. Good luck with quitting! I hope it goes well for you!

I don't know if it's possible, ex-smokers I have spoken too claim they do eat more to compensate yet a my friend who smokes told me that a Dr told her you will inevitably gain weight if you stop and don't over-eat, I think it's because smoking increases your metabolism? I am not sure if it's possible to be honest but good luck anyway!

(Natural ) it is called smoke RX you have to be ready, but it cleans the chemicals out of your system and it helps stop cravings with supplements. It also has a hand to face action that takes away that urge. Also buy a bag of skinny pretzels. Good luck!

I used that patch year ago. Once I slapped it on, I never smoked again. It still takes commitment and will-power, but the physical cravings aren't there.
