Unfortunately, for many people, that is true. However, it can not be made as a blanket statement. Many people who are sold out to God do focus on Him and remember Him as they are receiving the blessings that He has shared, and not only when they are in need.

I thank God every day for the blessings that he bestowes on me. Without Him, I wouldn't be able to wake up and get out of bed in the morning. Thank you Jesus for all you have done and all you do and all you are going to do!

Yes, this is very true. They only call on Him when in need. And the sad part about it is that after He meets their needs, they fail to give him one word of thanks for his mercy, grace and protection. After their crisis is over God is forgotten again without a single word of praise.
