Dinner is usually considered the midday meal because it is usually larger meal of the day. Supper is the evening meal and suppose to be a lighter meal. Supper dates back to 1275 and dinner is dated to 1297.

Same thing just different wording depending on what part of the country you're from,they usually say supper in the south though instead of dinner

Some parts of the country have dinner during lunch time hours at home. They have supper in the evening.

Depends on where you're living. In the midwest, lunch was lunch, but dinner and supper were used interchangeably for the night meal. Although supper was considered a little more formal.

~There are three meals in the day, breakfast, lunch and dinner.Then there are snacks. I don't think there is a difference between the two.
It could depend on where you live, how people referred to dinner. I think it's old fashioned to call dinner, supper.~

It all depends where you live. Down south they refer to lunch as dinner. When the evening meal comes around they say its supper time.
