Depends on where you live I am in the States so I say mom but some counties such as England say mum.

i think more people from america use mom for mum in the uk
i wrote mum in a question on time and some one said that i can't spell mom right lol

mum is the word used in England and Ireland. So when you see the word mum the writer is either British or Irish.

I don't call my mom "mum" I call her mom. Usually British people call their moms mum!
