I would suggest that you visit the TSA website http://www.tsa.gov/ they have the complete list of what you can and can not bring on the aircraft with you in both you carry on and checked luggage.
Hope this helps and have a great flight!

You are not allowed to bring any liquids or gel-like substances. This includes anything to drink, puddings, yell-o, liquor-filled chocolates, cream-filled pasties, etc.
Exceptions:
Baby food and baby formula when travelling with a small child (though security may ask you to open it and taste it to proove that it is edible).
Anything you buy AFTER you have passed the security checkpoint, though I would always recommend to keep the receipt...

Depends on your destination and what you are carrying. Many countries won't allow unpackaged or home made foods, especially meat, fish and dairy products. Some - like Australia - won't allow casual food imports at all. Drinks, better forget it.

It's best to check with the airline you're flying with.
Each airline varies and it also depends on where you are flying from and flying to.
