That is quite a difficult question, because there are so many relevant and joyful verses in the Bible. Some are useful to us in these last days, that we may be able to know if a person is of God or of Satan, such as Matthew 24:4-12, 23-27; Matthew 7:15, Isaiah 8:20, 1 John 4:1, and Matthew 7:20.
Others are reminders of how we should live our lives: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Galatians 2:20, Ephesians 6:10-18, Matthew 7:13-14, 1 Peter 5:8, 1 Thessalonians 5, and John 14:15.
Many verses are promises. 2 Peter 3:9, Ezekiel 36:25-32, Jeremiah 33:8, Hebrews 10:22, and John 1:12 are all promises to those who read the scriptures and pray to the Lord.

Yes, the scriptures are such a blessing to us. Through them we can learn the true spirit and character of God. We can see the example of our Lord, and see how to treat others with lovingkindness and compassion. We can find the true meaning of being a Christian.

I would probably say that one of my favorite verses would be John 13:34-35. It reads: "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."

"The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." Revelation 22:21. May God bless you all!

I had a hard time too and I'm going to cheat, because my two verses are all one sentence.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4: 6-7.

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
EDIT> i would like to note that Rev. Red has taken that verse out of context..Happy those who seize your children and smash them against a rock: the infants represent the future generations, and so must be destroyed if the enemy is truly to be eradicated.

Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and lose his soul?
Psalm 119: 105
Your world is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalms 1:1-2
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the pathof sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

Consider this:
Judges 4:21 - But Ja'el the wife of Heber took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him and drove the peg into his temple, till it went down into the ground, as he was lying fast asleep from weariness. So he died.

Also:
Colossians 3:22 - Slaves, obey in everythhing those who are your earthly masters, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing the Lord.

They both seem so relevant to our modern times.

My #1 is John 17:3 which puts it very simply.

3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

My next is Deuteronomy 6:6-7.

6 "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
7 'You shall TEACH them diligently to your children, and shall TALK of them when you SIT in your house, when you WALK by the way, when you LIE DOWN, and when you RISE.

" In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
. . In Him was life and the life was the light of men.
And the light shined in the darkness but the darkness comprehended it not.
. . . He was in the world and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.
He came unto His own and His own received Him not.
But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.
Which was born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us,[and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father] full of grace and truth."

Ecclesiastes 9:9

Actually, all of Ecclesiastes pretty much rules. It is by far the most accessible and inclusive portion of the Bible.
