I did it a year ago, and yes I had success, but I was really dieting and walking alot while I was doing Curves. It did help and was better than doing nothing, but I got soooooo bored with it. Same thing and same people every day. I signed up for a year and at the end of the year thought the plan expired, BUT you have to go back in an sign out of the program. Cost me a couple extra months of direct with-drawls from my checking. If your not doing anything at all, I'd say try it. Most Curves give coupons or have special promotions to try it out for free. Try it. Don't be afraid of having trouble, or being the only one there who's overweight. I found that the people who went were all shapes and sizes. Just dress comfy and were good sneakers. If I join again it will by month by month. Costs a little more, but you can drop it whenever you want. Good Luck.

I did curves for 8 months going 4 times a week. Then I moved to a different city where they didn't have a curves there. So I joined the local gym and did cardio and strength training for the same amount of time I did the curves workout. If your curves has all the equipment..it takes about 40 mins. I noticed WAY better results at the gym than I ever did at Curves.

I personally have never been to Curves, but my grandmother has had great success there. She's close to 80 and was able to lose a significant amount of weight over a few months. She also likes going because she said in general, the other women were very kind.

I completed a 3 week fitness study at a 'Ladies Workout Express' (which has similar machines and a 30 minute circuit workout). To take part in the study I agreed to do their workout 3/a week. In the end I lost 8" - mostly off my thighs. I didn't lose any wieght, but then again, I was not dieting but rather just exercising. I did not join the program after the study was over because they wanted me to sign a 3 year contract and I thought that was way to much to ask for. The experience did motivate me to exercise though and I have since joined different gym.

Well , I think Curves is good but you are the one who has to make effort . Every other gym is good if you are making effort.

I haven't personally been there, but I have friends who have lost weight and I know some who have lost some, but then seem to get stuck where they're at.
