I'm a Glasgwegian and I have to say I'm not entirely sure I understand all of your text. So I'll answer the first question..."Do you think Glaswegians are bigoted, opinionated, drunken, violent people?"...Bigoted - some, but then again I can tell you at least a dozen other cities which have issues with bigotry. Opinionated - absolutely, how boring would life be without opinions - you yourself are asking for some. Drunken - sometimes, after a week of high pressure working, getting pished is a great relief. I have to say though, I'm in Dusseldorf at the moment and I can show you just the same drunken behaviour as we get in Glasgow. Violent - as a community no. Individuals yes. There are many reason why Glasgow has a high rate of violent crime, particulary knife crime, you only have to look back to our not so distant past to see we're in a cycle but hey, I'd rather live in Glasgow than some Southern American cities.
Neds and nedish behaviour is part of our culture. You may loathe it or be part of it. Whatever. It's not going to change unless the rest of the community do something about it. Proud to be Glaswegian....for the good and the bad!

drunken people are frequently bigoted, opinionated, and voilent,
in the words of David Williams, I am a lady, and do not need to be a ned or a sycopant to reply, but I will add that a lot of Glaswegian men are definitely mummies boys.

I have to admit the reputation says that ... and they do say where there's smoke there's fire .... and my own personal experience to date has not proved otherwise ......
however I would like to believe that even among those small grains of truth, like in every other society and culture, there are the good ones and the really good ones who get overlooked by the loudmouthed pillocks who blot everybody's copy books ... I would like to extend the hand of generosity and suggest that you are not one of them... I can understand your scathing anger at permanently being tarred by the same brush.....
