sprayed the hinges with silicone still doesn't seem to help.

spray the seals not the hinges with silicone spray

If they hold closed...it is not the hinges, it is water on the door seal freezing to the metal frame. Get some vaseline and smear on a thin coat into the rubber seal. Won't hurt it any, but it won't soak in any water either.

Do you wash your car this time of year?

I used to have a Nissan that if I washed it, it would freeze up. I just stopped washing it during winter.

Also, carry around some lock de-icer (it comes in a little can like pepper spray - you can get it at most gas stations). Keep it in your coat - NOT in the car.

Rub some vaseline on the rubber seals where they touch the door, all the way round.

Silicone spray as above....worked for me.
