Ok so my neice is flying with her boyfriend this summer. The question we both want to know is she is 18, he is only 17. His parents dont have a problem with the flying. But When they fly do they have to get his parents signiture or since she is 18 is that ok? They just dont want to drive anhour to the airport with them. Thanks for any information!

Passengers who are ages 15-17 are considered "young adults" and do NOT need to use the airline's Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service. No signatures will be necessary for anything.

Contact the carrier. This also depends on if they are flying domestic or out of the continental US if he should be listed as an 'Unaccompanied minor.'
If he's listed as a minor, then someone will have to sign for him at the point of destination. This could be more of a hassle than what's it's worth.

Shouldn't need any special procedures. Airline unaccompanied minor (UM) programs go up to age 15. Anyone older should be able to manage traveling alone. Check the specific airline website for their policy to be sure.

I don't think there would be any bother with a 17-year old.
Even young children can fly alone, with parental statements and prior knowledge of the airline.
