my question is .is this whiskey have a value to it.

Thats 42 years old Id say it does , do not on any Account open it up go seek advice as to its Value.Try various sources do not take the word of one source only.If this is in Dublin try Adams on St Stephens Green they will put you in touch with someone who deals in Vintage Wines and Whiskey.Good Luck.
