if i want to workout my triceps do i put my arms closer when doing pushups? If i want to workout my chest do i spread my arms apart when doing pushsups?

Triceps- Arms close together, elbows pointed towards your feet.

Chest- Arms spread apart, wider than shoulder width, elbows pointed out

Yes, arms clost together works the triceps more. Try diamond push ups. Put your hands together directly under your chest, your index fingers touching, and your thumbs touching (forming a diamond shape in the middle), your triceps will really feel it.

Here is a great body weight exercise. Sit on the floor with legs together. Put arms slightly behind you and push yourself off the floor until your buttocks are off the floor then dip back down and you will feel this burn. You can also use a chair for the same effect.
