Contrary to popular beliefs, dogs can eat most human food, and it's actually good for them. But, there are some exceptions. Never feed your dog grapes, rasins, turnips, or onions- there is a sugar complex that their liver can't process, and it can cause liver failure in the long run. Also, anything with a high sugar content or caffine is very bad too. It can actually give a dog a heart attack. Which means no chocolate, Mt. Dew, or coffee for Sparky. Give him some peanut butter instead. Dogs love peanut butter.
A word to the wise...if you are going to feed your dog human food, put it in his bowl, never feed him from your plate. If you do, even once, he will learn that good things come from your plate, and you might lose a steak. ;)

You could replace some of your dog's regular diet with a high quality bran or any of the following: Carrots, pear, banana or pepper (non spicy variety!). If your dog prefers food which is not crunchy, try grating or pureeing the additions. Also be aware that some apparently everyday foods can be highly toxic to dogs, such as onions, grapes and raisins; and the pips of many fruits.
Gradually add new items to your dogs regular food so as to not cause intestinal distress.

Lots of good health cooked "human" foods are appropriate for dogs as well.
Notice I said cooked!!
Chicken
Ground Beef
Brown Rice
Carrots
Pumpkin
Apples
Bananas
Oatmeal
Veal
Frozen Yogurt
Duck
Eggs
Cheese as a treat
My dogs eat Natural Balance, but they also get a wholesome cooked meal of many of these items once or twice a week as a substitute meal, or as treats.
I do not treat my dogs with processed dog treats, but rather with cooked bits of chicken...great for training!!

most of the time a dog can eat anything you eat. Just stay away from anything too spicy or with caffine. My Shiba Inu, Foxy, 7 years old, eats everything I do, except, chocolate, and we have never had a problem. Mainly, if I eat so will he.

Dogs love eggs, and it is good for there coat too. Also cheese because it has protein. Never feed your dog raisins, chocolate or vegetables. Veggies tend to upset their stomachs. Hope this helps.

Somehting unsalted or unsweetened. Like, rice, eggs, bread, something of the sort. They can also eat fresh things like carrots and apples, which are both good for them.
But if you give them apples you MAY want to take them out to poo more...It will need to go poo a little more often with apples. But nevertheless apples and carrots are good for your dog.

plain chicken and rice. Eggs, almost anything plain and unseasoned, no chocolate. Our dog loves liver! Many of these foods are also very good for a shiny thick coat!

table scraps by definition are the stuff you wont eat and should NEVER be given to a dog either (eg grissel, fat)
left overs on the other hand are ok - no onions, grapes, sweets - though
rice is especially good
never boiled bones which are weak and can splinter

dogs will eat anything. the right answer is never feed your dog anything other than dog food. giving yr dog human food and especially food from your table tells the dog it is equal to u ....and you'll get misbehaviour problems.
