Should I need to have someone check my laser on my 5-disc (Sony) DVD player? I once heard that they can get out of adjustment and need servicing from time to time. I have two DVD players, and I have moved residences about 3 times since... should I have it checked out? How easy is it work on these DVD players without going to a service technician?

There isn't any periodic maintenance that needs to be done by a repairman.
It costs more to fix a consumer electronic item then it does to make it. Use it until it breaks, then buy a new one.

Don't try to fix something if you are not certified or qualified to repair it....Have a professional repair it!
