Hello, Just wondering if someone can help me out. I will be arriving at the Milan airport at the end of January and my lay over will be for 8.5 hours. So I want to go into the city and see and do things while I have so much time in between flights. Can any one tell me how to get to the city from the airport? Back and forth? What to do and go see while I have the time? Any shopping markets around? I really would hate to be in that airport for that long. Thanks!!
ps. it will be my first time in Italy! Hopefully I run into the italian singer Nek!

You can take a shuttle bus to the Milan terminal and there take the subway to IL DUOMO station. You'll be in the middle of Milan's shopping area and then give a look to yr watch otherwise you'll miss your flight..!! Also watch at yr wallet both due to the pick pockets (always in action...) and for the high prices.
Really take care to be back in the schedule as time is "flying"
(while you risk to not do that....!!!).
However after this short jump ,the next time you come here , you cannot say having been in Italy already ....!!!

In such a short time you should go the "Duomo", taking the Metro from the train station, also the Teatro La Scala and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.
If you have time you should visit the Castello Sforzesco also.

ok, for go to milan you can choose train or coach. Train is too fast.
The name of the train is "Malpensa Express", and it's very cheep (16Euro) and you can go to Cadorna station in 1hour. From Cadorna you can take the subways (redline linearossa) and go to Duomo, Sforzesco Castle and so on
Have a nice trip

I live in Milan
