Don't do it right away. If you were with you ex for a long time than this is a huge mistake. One that I am paying for right now. If you were only with him for like a couple weeks though... dating friends of ex's is a bad idea. Never done it, never will.

Ever heard the saying"don't jump from the frying pan into the fire"?
Well, That's what you are about to do.Look, just cause you want something doesn't mean you should get it.Not only are you probably hurting this now "ex" boyfriend by breaking things off with him,now you want to date his friend and will be rubbing more salt into the wound. What kinda person does this?? Regardless if he hurt you, do you see what kinda crap will come of you dating this friend of his?
If I was you I would realize that there is alot of guys in this world that you can date.Don't "piss in your own front yard" as they say.
Secondly you just got done with a relationship and don't need to be getting right back into a new one.Why don't you spend a little time reflecting on all of it and take time to remember what it was like to just worry about what you need as an individual.
This will help you to make better judgment decisions in the future and make you also realize that if need be, being on your own isn't going to be so terrible if the next one don't work out either..

The best thing is to at least wait a day or two because if he is friends with you r ex-boy and he is a sweet guy he might feel bad going out with you right away and also if you wait your ex wont be a super ***

You should wait 30 days. What if you change your mind next week? Are you going to boyfriend hop? Out of respect for you ex and to not ruin their frindship, I'd wait a while. Nothing is wrong with not having a boyfriend.

As a general rule your ex-boyfriends friends are always off limits regardless of how much time is given.
If a few months pass and you still feel the same ways, as does he, the only acceptable means is for him to ask your ex if dating you will be OK.

I wouldn't ask out my xbf's friend and I would wait a couple of months just to see where I am as person now. Relationships change us most times for the best but sometimes for the worst.

I think its always a bad idea going for an ex's friend.. but if you really like the guy and you think it could be worth it then go for it. Talk to the guy you like first though cos he's risking his friendship and all and it wont be pleasant for your ex, so make sure you think it through thoroughly first! maybe leave it a good few days before you do anything.. just to give yourself time to think? good luck, whatever happens :)

I did this a few months ago, think I actually overlapped them though! Don't wait, just do. Life's too short to think "what if" although the friends stopped talking, but they both still talk to me!
