a cure for cancer is only humanely possible not through poisonous chemicals and radiations.
it is a tricky question i believe if one can be cured the other can also be cured. only we need to look in the right direction. we in modern medicines treat cancer as an enemey it is not, it is just a symptom of something basically wrong in the system of the body, the way the the whole body works. cancer is just uncontrolled multiplication of cells it as much a part of the body as all other parts. way to treat the cancer is to treat the whole body and not the part, remove what is wrong with the body and you can cure any cancer. indian ayurvedic system has prescribed and treated cancer on these lines and has achieved a great deal of success. we need to look to alternatives from china, india anywhere we can get some insight into ancient but wise methods.
stop treating cancer as an enemey to be attacked with chemicals and harmful radiations.

If Yahoo! Answer had existed a hundred and some years ago, someone would have asked the following question: "Is a cure for all polio humanly possible?" A bunch of people would have said, "No." They would have been wrong.
Considering the advances we have already made, I have to think the answer is a big YES. Many forms of cancer were certain death only ten or twenty years ago, and now many of these people are alive and well. There is no cure currently, but many people are being cured, at least enough to live a long, healthy life. Obviously there are plenty of people still suffering, but the fact is that science is making many breakthroughs on this front. A cure is inevitable, and it is just a matter of when.
Perhaps a more important question is this: when they find a cure for cancer, will it be made available for everyone, or just the filthy rich people who can afford it?

Hopefully we will find a cure in the future, but as of right now there is no sure-fire cure for cancer. All we can do is treat it the best we know how and put it into remission.
I hope to see a cure within my lifetime.

Probably not. Cancer is not one disease. It is probably hundreds perhaps thousands. Each cancer is the result of a specific set of genetic mutations and the location in the body that is affected.
There is no cure for the common cold or influenza for a similar reason. There are so many strains. One treatment/vaccine will cure one strain or related strains.
Back to cancer, there are 2 approaches to treating cancer.
First, eliminate (kill) all the cancerous cells (cell with the genetic mutations). This is the method most prominently used. It is the way we know about. This approach often has significant side effects because it involves kill all actively (rapidly) dividing cells whether they are cancerous or not.
Second, another newer approach is to identify the genetic mutation(s) and attempt to fix them. We are only beginning to make steps with this method. Gleevec and Sprycel are 2 drugs currently begin used which specifically target certain genetic mutations seen in CML and GIST cancer types without major side effects (rash is most reported). I expect other drugs in this class to be developed in the future for specific cancers.
In summary, I believe cures for specific cancers will be found in the future (even near future < 20 years) but, not one cure for all cancers as most people expect.

Perhaps nothing will cure all people with cancer, just as nothing cures all people of TB, or Pnuemonia. However, it seems to me that the pharmacutical industry and the medical establishment really repress alternative therapies ( read: inexpensive & easily available to anyone). After all, they these therapies threaten a major source of revenue. When I say the medical establishment, I do not mean the doctors with whom most of us interact. I mean the higher organizations.
The 2 therapies that immediately come to mind are the Essiac formula & the Hoxey formula. Both are herbal treatments. The Essiac formula, especially, had a proven track record in Canada.
Did either of these treatments cure everyone? No.
Does surgery, or chemo, or radiation, or a combination of these cure every case of cancer. No.
Should alternative treatments be allowed & encouraged? In my opinion, absolutely. They may save one life that would have otherwise been lost.
It is often pointed out that herbal & alternative medicines have not been tested & therefore may not be safe or helpful. I believe that 'Traditional' cancer treatments HAVE been tested and still have life damaging side effects and do not always cure!

My answer is a BIG YESS!! The cure is already here in our lifetime but many of us fail to notice it. Why? Becuz we have always been scared off, from knowing the truth!
Cancer is no longer a death sentence! It is however important to understand the root causes to it. Chemotherapy, radiation or surgery may not be the answer!! They are merely eradication of the symptoms without actually curing the root causes!
The answer to curing cancer is actually found in the natural vegetation around us - much cheaper alternatives than the expensive medication normally prescribed! We have been made to believe otherwise ......"Knock and You Shall Find...."

Prevention is better than cure. You can prevent lung cancer if you stop cigarette smoking or discourage others from smoking. You can prevent Hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) if you protect yourself from Hepatitis B Virus or stop spreading the same to others. You can prevent cervical cancer if you protect yourself from Human Papilloma Virus or stop spreading the same.
Please see the web pages for more details on Tobacco smoking, Hepatocellular carcinoma (Lung cancer), Hepatitis B virus, Liver cancer, Human papilloma virus (Genital warts) and Cervical cancer.

It is but we will probably not see it in our time. But by the time they find a cure for cancer they will come across something else worst so it will never end. Diseases will keep getting deadlier as the centuries go by.
