Is Global Warming real? Probably. Are the ice caps melting? Absolutely. Is it caused by Greenhouse Gas emmisions? Probably not. What is the biggest contributor to current global weather patterns? CITIES. It is not the burning of fossil fuels, but the very existance of humanity that is causing the weather changes. What can we do about it? The answer should be "Do we really NEED to do anything about it?" What do you think?

Read the question and you will see that I am defining Global Warming separate from Climate Change. Cities cause climate change. I never said or implied that ANY human activity causes Global Warming.

Hey, don't you read? The UN has already decided that cows are causing all the problems.

Regarding the comment before this. Study thermodynamic a bit better. There is not a direct relationship between a one degree rise in temperature and the energy in the motion of particles. The relationship is exponential which mean a one degree rise on average is a very big deal.
Regarding this question, what a loop you throw! While correlation does not represent causation (basic tenet of statistics), I'd say wake up and smell the coffee. Fact: strong correlation between the increased use of fossil fuels and atmospheric and oceanic concentrations of CO2 (this used to be questioned early on, but is now considered fact). Correlation between greenhouse gas concentration and temperature (not just on this planet). While the so called solar output may play a role in this, the fact is that the evidence suggests that no matter what the variation in solar output is, its energy is getting trapped on Earth by our greenhouse gases (significantly contributed by anthropogenic endeavors and not just plain old existing).
I am willing to agree that the human population, that has already surpassed the biomass of most other living things we are familiar with, probably contributes and insane, absolute amount of CO2 just by breathing, but it is probably insignificant compared to all of those who jump into a car to go to the nearest convenient store, or the environmental cost of maintain homes and office buildings at comfortable temperatures, or all the industries which make products that make our lives easier, or the hacking down of forests (themselves natural producers of CO2) and burning the remains to provide living space for an ever-burdening human population.
If changes are not made, technologies will not be able to keep up with all the new problems created not just buy greenhouse effect, the human population will crash, much like bacteria in a culture dish, and it will take much of the biodiversity on the planet with it.

Everybody who has a vehicle is the contributor of global warming. Now a days every human activity is more or less harmful to the environment. We should use less vehicles, should not burn fossil fuels, grow more trees, should not use CFCs. As everybody has a right to live, everybody has a responsibility to repair the damaged environment. I wish u that u would certainly do your best in maintaining the sensitive equilibrium of the environment. All the best

we must be on the global warmming trend again, its ironic that in the last100 years alarmists predicted 4 times warming and a new ice age,1895-1932 global warming ,then in 1929-1969 global cooling, then in 1954-1976 went back to global warming, to the present.most so called "scientists" do agree it warmed 1 degree in the last 100 years. i bet if i put them so called "scientists" in a room at 70 degrees, and told them now, mind you im going to turn the heat or cooling up or down 1 degree, with in 5 minutes, ibet they could not know the diffreence in temp

When it stops being a theory and evidence that it really does exist, and demonstrates the consequences of it, and is able to predict how the future will happen as a result of it existing is known. Until then, it's a matter of faith and should be treated as such.

Please show me the cities that STARTED global warming when the Ice Age ended?
Global Warming is natural. The only debatable point is how much mankind is contributing.

i hope the new president will take this issue more seriously, and re-affirm our interest in the Kyoto Protocol, among other changes in the auto and energy industries. people will "wake up", i fear, when it is too late to do anything. we'll just have to drag the skeptics along kicking and screaming, cause i don't plan to wait that long.
