You can check the status of your case at the county clerk's office. Checking the file is free of charge however they will probably charge at least $1 a page if you want copies. Just make sure you have your docket or cause number with you when you go. If your felony was reduced to a misdemeanor then you probably will not be eligible (it will depend upon the felony). If it was dismissed all together, then you should be able to apply for a permit. However, I would check your records at the clerk's office first to see what your felony conviction status is first.

Call the courthouse and see what they say about your charge. I dont know what state you are in but in some /most states although your charges have been dropped your records will show you had a Felony charge against you and it should also show the date as to when it was dropped. You may not be able to carry a gun due to having Felony charges. I know if you are convicted of a FELONY you will never be allowed to carry a gun no matter what state you live in.

No felon can carry or use any firearms. What do you mean by felony dismissed? How is that possible. I would like to hear more about that...I never heard of that being possible.

If your conviction is on record, there is no way you can even own a gun, less carry one.
