Hi, hope you are well this New Year.
Yes, Jesus knew that he would rise on Easter morning. I believe that with us, he had great turmoil in the garden for what was coming in the crucifixtition and death, but trust in the Father for the power to come out of the grave, after going to hades to preach. The flesh is a hard thing to conquer, I have to remind myself that the Holy Spirit is the same power that Jesus had to conquer fear and death, just as we have the same power today.

blessings to you~vicki

Jesus knew He would rise from the grave, and told people so before He was crucified. Read John 2:19. The "temple" Jesus spoke of was His own body. Remember that Jesus also said our bodies are to be a temple to the living God.

"From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day." Mathew 16:21

"Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." John 10:17-18

Jesus knew that he would rise again, That is why he told the people, to tear this temple down & in 3 days I will raise it back up, they thought he meant the Jewish temple, But he was speaking of his body, & also Jesus said That no man take my life, I lay it down myself & will raise it up again.

He knew it and He told His disciples what was to happen. He had to KEEP TELLING THEM because it is hard to beleive...even as it is today.

Matt 16:21

21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
(from New International Version)

Matt 17:22-23

22 When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. 23 They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life." And the disciples were filled with grief.
(from New International Version)

Matt 20:18-19
18 "We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death 19 and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!"
(from New International Version)

Ultimately, all questions relating to God isn't about knowledge, but faith. Anyone who says that they know this and that about God and what he will and won't do, by definition, have no faith. The meaning of faith is to believe in the absence of proof or evidence. If Jesus already knew he would raise from the dead I don't thing his last words would have been; "father, to you I commend my soul".

he knew

John 10:17-19
17Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

18No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

19There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

He knew. He prophecied his death and resurrection before the fact. He said, "Destroy THIS Temple, and in three days, I will raise it up." John 2:19

"THIS" is in reference to Himself.
