First, replace everything you drink during the day with either low fat milk or water. Then begin by walking and/or chores around the house. You'll begin to feel better about yourself, more motivated and happy!! Running and jogging is proven to be bad for your knees and legs and back- don't do that!! Eventually you'll need to reduce your portion sizes when you eat and don't over do the starches (bread, rice, and pastas). Good luck to you!

1. Address what behaviors led to your weight gain.
2. Look at the time period when those behaviors started.
3. Determine if your habits improve or get worse when you use a scale often. If it is the latter, don't focus on weighing in, focus on feeling healthy.
4. I find that the zone way of eating is a big help to me. Due to weight, I add extra calories (1700-2000) because you don't want to slow down your metabolism. I find that without exercise, I lose about 1/2 a pound on a daily basis. But, feeling like a functional person is the real reason to stick with it.
5. This may sound blunt, but here it goes. You need to ask if this particular food choice is improving your health, or helping you slowly (and unintentionally) commit suicide.
6. If you are religious, I would suggest offering whatever piece of food is a temptation as a sacrifice to God (for that 2-4 hour time period). Basically, that means asking for help and saying that Gods plan for you is more important than whatever plan you are on by eating something unhealthy.

Don't go for "quick" go for longevity. Although, if you change your eating habits for the good, you will melt pounds fast initially.
I don't know your body type, but generally modifying your eating to whole foods, cutting out sugars and exercising will make a difference. Sometimes we don't realize how much we're eating and how little we move until we start to take a look at that. So having a food and exercise journal would be a great first place to start.
I put a link below for you, too, to check out, of the 100 healthiest foods because it *does* matter what you put in your body and how you feel.
I know it isn't easier and you've a lot more to lose than those looking to shed 10 pounds. But persistance and dedication will help you do that. Even if you lose 20 pounds and keep it off for a year you are ahead of the game.
Best wishes!!!

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

1. NEVER EVER ate sugar. It's a poison that makes us older, sicker, fatter and tired...all things we dont want. Seriously, sugar is the one who does the dirty work in weight gain. Stop eating it all together. You can see my list of ingredients to avoid when shopping here http://www.healthandstrength.net/qofweeka.htm...
2. Drink ALOT of water. 2-3 liters a day. The more the merrier! We need about half our body weight in ounces JUST for regular body functions! When you feel thirsty, that means you are already dehydrated and lose brain function. Water flushes toxins from your fat cells and keeps you younger.
3. Exercise!!! So very important. Here http://www.healthandstrength.net/abexe.htm... are my favorite ab exercises. I also do cardio 4-5 days a week for about 30 minutes a time.
4. Eat less. How many calories do you think is in that burger or that plate of fries or in that handful of chips. What about overfilling our plates? If you go here http://www.healthandstrength.net/qofweek.htm... I wrote something about saving on calories and losing weight.
5. Go to sleep before 10pm. Your body starts repairing and rebuilding and speeding up weight loss while you sleep only if you sleep at about 10pm. If you are awake and go to bed at 12, you miss out on that very important time. I have a good article on my site here http://www.healthandstrength.net/qofweekb.htm that talks about the importance of sleep and how STRESS can make actually make you fatter.
6. BE POSITIVE. Be thankful every day and love yourself
7. BE CONSISTANT! That I think is the KEY to losing weight. So what if you went a week and only lost a pound...or didnt lose any...KEEP going. DON'T stop. This is a lifelong commitment, so stick to it and one day you will open your eyes and need a new wardrobe!
8. Eat more veggies and skinny friendly foods. I have my list of my top ten foods that I ate to lost weight here http://www.healthandstrength.net/tenfoods.htm...
80% veggies at every meal including breakfast will keep you young and help you lose weight.
9. Do the little things that count! Check out 10 cool ideas that you can do to help boost your calorie burn throught the day here: http://www.healthandstrength.net/tips.htm
Good luck and don't forget that YOU are the only one who decides what foods enter your body and how long you sit around. Make the change, take the chance and give yourself time! You can do it. I know you can!

Moderation is the key word. An average female needs 1,200 calories a day and the average male about 2,200 a day. I would switch drinking soft drinks (lots of calories), for diet soda or water (if you are like me and hate water, flavored water works good). Try to use smaller plates, I use the dessert plate to eat off of instead of a regular dinner plate. I fill it up with what I want and DON'T go back for seconds. The most important thing to remember is not to deny your body it's cravings. That hurts a diet the most. If your body tells you it wants chocolate.........eat some. Just eat a small amount. All veggies are what is called "free foods", you can eat all you want and the calories wouldn't add up to much. I learned to love salads and I have one with dinner, eating it first to fill up. Good luck and I hope this helps.
As for exercise..........I started w/yoga (very low impact) and worked my way up to Ti-Bo (high impact)

You should mix in cardio, diet and a nice light form of circuit training and strength training. I would get in the gym 3 to 4 days a week. You need to commit to a certain amount of days and time during those days that you want to train. The key is consistency. Good luck!

Eat goats cheese instead of regular cheese. It contains 40 per cent fewer calories than the cheese produced from cow’s milk.
