I take this to mean that someone is on an easy job, has a good thing going and is reaping the rewards very easily, e.g. a gold digger married to elder rich gent

It means that they are on a path that gets them everything they want and need in life with very little trouble. Maybe they got a new high paying job or married a billionaire. Congrats to whoever it is.
