Am I overweight? Im 13 years old, about 5"3 (is that how you write it?) and around 139 lbs. Am I overweight? if so, how can I lose weight fast and effectively? I would appreciate your help!

The question should not necessarily be, are you overweight, but are you happy with your weight?
if you really want to lose weight, it can't happen very quickly. it is one of those things that you have to give time.
also, be VERY careful dieting. do not risk your health NO MATTER WHAT. if you eat a lot of sweets, the easiest thing to do to lose a bit of weight is cut out all sweets, or limit yourself to very little sweets. otherwise, try taking a multivitamin daily and cut back your caloric intake a little bit, as well as exercise more. doing something like that is actually really good for you, as long as you don't cut back your caloric intake too much (don't eat less than 1500 calories a day)

Honey, bigger people will tell you your skinny, skinny people will tell you your fat... In the end the only opinon that matters is yours. When you look in the mirror what do you see? If you dont feel comfortable with who you are, make a commitment to change; DONT make a commitment to lose weight and starve yourself, make a commitment to eat healthy (with portion control) and exercise on a regular basis. You're only 13, your body is growing and changing, just get out with your firends and walk, skate, dance, swim, have fun... It's all exercise and with eating healthy your body will find its own place.

According to the BMI calculator you are not overweight, just slightly below. Some people here may give you good advices on losing weight.

You are overweight. At your age you should focus on a more healthy diet and plenty of excercise. Ofcourse genetics plays a large part so do the above and be happy with who you are regardless of end results.

If you want to lose weight, just add excersise into your daily routine, and watch what you eat. There are no helathy ways to lose weight fast, so just give it time. Good luck!

You should lose about 20 pounds. Just watch your calories and exercise about 40 minutes a day.

You are close, I think just exercise and maybe maintain this weight will help but then again if you lose you wont be so close.
