I wrote the following as an answer to a question asking why muslims are violent. Seems that when I quote the koran muslims turn me in as violating community standards. I thought they liked the koran...
"The koran tells muslims to "smite the necks of infidels", thus we see them beheading tied up hostages. The koran tells muslims to beat their wives also. Given the violence the koran teaches expect more of this from them."

You muslims always say I'm ignorant of islam, but I have read the entire koran, every page, every word, and it was only after I educated myself about islam that I was inspired by the real God to oppose islam, the religion of pagan moon god allah and the pedophile, thief, rapist, and murderer that muslims call a prophet.
Report me if you wish. Muslims have always tried to stop the truth from being told about their evil cult Just read what the muslims here have written. They help me prove my point.

Muslims complain when the truth about their "religion" is told. You are making it difficult for them to say that Islam is about peace and get others to believe. Keep up the good work.

Questions #1 and #2 are technically chat type of questions. That many stars and over 100 answers per question put them on the map for users who maybe were not amused with it's content and reported them. They might have also been reported for being posted in the wrong section, but you haven't given enough information to know if this is what might have happened. #3 might have been considered a poll or survey type of question; if you posted it in polls and surveys there is a chance you could appeal the deletion and get the question back. If you question content runs on the risque and/or edgy side you run the risk of getting the negative attention along with the positive popular response.

Well....If youre gonna pick and choose bits out of the Koran without putting them in Context....God knows what i would be able to do with the New testament!!

Stop generalising and calling Muslims violent. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE ASSHOLE........Stop being blinded by the media and the selective coverage that they chose to display making it look like Muslims are blood thirsty killers.

Open your eyes people and use your head. If you realy wanna know whats in the Koran.....Read into it through respected Muslim literature and it will all make sense. Violence and nonsense is NOT the reason why Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.

I encourage you to look into it so you stop sounding like an ignorant idiot!!

Islam is not violent. Although Islam declares war against non-muslims, it is still with certain rules. like asking them to pay the price of not being a muslim (gizyah) instead of war. if there has to be war, Islam teaches not to kill young children, women, and older men. Do not just declare Islam as violent and leave behind what americans are doing in Iraq and what Israel is doing in palestine and and and... why is it only islam that comes up when talkin abt violence and terrorism. what do u call what bush is doing? what do u call what israel is doing? are they not being violent?? wake up ppl, try to find the truth
abt beating wives. i think u shud read more and learn b4 u open ur mouth as u seem so ignorant abt islam. Here in Koran, beating ur wife does not mean grab her and smack her hard or slap her or beat her to her head till she bleeds. no, it means to give her a very very very light, unhurting, unharmful punch if shes done something wrong so she wud come to her senses. there is a whole surah in koran called (alnisaa- woman) it all talks abt how men shud treat their wives nicely and give them all their rights and treat them with tender and love. why do u leave a whole surah and talk abt 1 verse that u do not even correctly understand? there r so many good things in koran but the enemies of koraan and Islam ignore them and just concentrate on what they think is bad or wrong. btw, most muslim men treat their wives very nicely and do not cheat. my husband never beat me and i know he never will...
plz, be sure of what u say b4 u say it, and read more abt Islam, u will find how beautiful it really is.

You took it out of context and without providing the correct exegesis.

For instance,

The Command to fight Those Who fight Muslims and killing Them wherever They are found

Abu Ja`far Ar-Razi said that Ar-Rabi` bin Anas said that Abu Al-`Aliyah commented on what Allah said:

[وَقَـتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ]

(And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you,)

Abu Al-`Aliyah said, "This was the first Ayah about fighting that was revealed in Al-Madinah. Ever since it was revealed, Allah's Messenger used to fight only those who fought him and avoid non-combatants. Later, Surat Bara'ah (chapter 9 in the Qur'an) was revealed.'' `Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said similarly, then he said that this was later abrogated by the Ayah:

[فَاقْتُلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدتُّمُوهُمْ]

(then kill them wherever you find them) (9:5).

However, this statement is not plausible, because Allah's statement:

[الَّذِينَ يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ]

(...those who fight you) applies only to fighting the enemies who are engaged in fighting Islam and its people. So the Ayah means, `Fight those who fight you', just as Allah said (in another Ayah):

[وَقَاتِلُواْ الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَآفَّةً كَمَا يُقَـتِلُونَكُمْ كَآفَّةً]

(...and fight against the Mushrikin collectively as they fight against you collectively.) (9:36)

This is why Allah said later in the Ayah:

[وَاقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ]

(And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out.) meaning, `Your energy should be spent on fighting them, just as their energy is spent on fighting you, and on expelling them from the areas from which they have expelled you, as a law of equality in punishment.'

The Prohibition of mutilating the Dead and stealing from the captured Goods

Allah said:

[وَلاَ تَعْتَدُواْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ]

(but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allah likes not the transgressors.)

This Ayah means, `Fight for the sake of Allah and do not be transgressors,' such as, by committing prohibitions. Al-Hasan Al-Basri stated that transgression (indicated by the Ayah), "includes mutilating the dead, theft (from the captured goods), killing women, children and old people who do not participate in warfare, killing priests and residents of houses of worship, burning down trees and killing animals without real benefit.'' This is also the opinion of Ibn `Abbas, `Umar bin `Abdul-`Aziz, Muqatil bin Hayyan and others. Muslim recorded in his Sahih that Buraydah narrated that Allah's Messenger said:

«اغْزُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللهِ، اغْزُوا وَلَا تَغُلُّوا وَلَا تَغْدِرُوا وَلَا تَمْثُلُوا وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا وَلَا أَصْحَابَ الصَّوَامِع»

(Fight for the sake of Allah and fight those who disbelieve in Allah. Fight, but do not steal (from the captured goods), commit treachery, mutilate (the dead), or kill a child, or those who reside in houses of worship.)

It is reported in the Two Sahihs that Ibn `Umar said, "A woman was found dead during one of the Prophet's battles and the Prophet then forbade killing women and children. '' There are many other Hadiths on this subject.

God knows best

Peace and Love.

Well I have no clue why people are turing you in, The Qurean does have alot of Violent statements but I think its sometimes out of context,

I am a Bahai and we are taught to read the entire exerpt so that the quote can't be taken out of context.

We also believe in progressive revelations.

And independent investigation of the truth.

Many people believe that Bahai's are a sect of Islam however we are not.

We read the Bible and the Koran and other holy writtings.

Sanctify your ears from the idle talk of them that are the symbols of denial and the exponents of violence and anger.

(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 72)

He hath, moreover, ordained that His Cause be taught through the power of men's utterance, and not through resort to violence

(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 278)

Religious fanaticism and hatred are a world-devouring fire, whose violence none can quench. The Hand of Divine power can, alone, deliver mankind from this desolating affliction....

(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 288)

He that wisheth to promote the Cause of the one true God, let him promote  330  it through his pen and tongue, rather than have recourse to sword or violence.

(Baha'u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha'u'llah, p. 329)

Thou seest, O my God, how the wrongs committed by such of Thy creatures as have turned their backs to Thee have come in between Him in Whom Thy Godhead is manifest and Thy servants. Send down upon them, O my Lord, what will cause them to be busied with each others' concerns. Let, then, their violence be confined to their own selves, that the land and they that dwell therein may find peace.

(Baha'u'llah, Prayers and Meditations by Baha'u'llah, p. 195)

O ye lovers of God! In this, the cycle of Almighty God,
violence and force, constraint and oppression, are one and all
condemned.

(Baha'u'llah, The Kitab-i-Aqdas, p. 238)

And now, ponder upon these things. What could have caused such contention and conflict? Why is it that the advent of every true Manifestation of God hath been accompanied by such strife and tumult, by such tyranny and upheaval? This notwithstanding the fact that all the Prophets of God, whenever made manifest unto the peoples of the world, have invariably foretold the coming of yet another Prophet after them, and have established such signs as would herald the advent of the future Dispensation. To this the records of all sacred books bear witness. Why then is it that despite the expectation of men in their quest of the Manifestations of Holiness, and in spite of the signs recorded in the sacred books, such acts of violence, of oppression and cruelty, should have been perpetrated in every age and cycle against all the Prophets and chosen Ones of God? Even as He hath revealed: "As oft as an Apostle cometh unto you with that which your souls desire not, ye swell with pride, accusing some of being impostors and slaying others."[1]
[1 Qur'án 2:87.]

(Baha'u'llah, The Kitab-i-Iqan, p. 12)

You may report to me of any excess or violence committed within your jurisdiction, of any awkward and difficult position in which you find yourself, or of any harshness or atrocity which was perpetrated in your province and which you cannot redeem without the help of Allah and your Imam.

(Ali b. Abi Taalib, Letters from Nahjul Balaagh)

They said, 'We are endowed with strength, and endowed with keen violence; but the bidding is thine, see then what it is that thou wilt bid.'

(The Qur'an (E.H. Palmer tr), Sura 27 - The Ant)

And we taught him the art of making coats of mail for you, to shield you from each other's violence; are ye then grateful?

(The Qur'an (E.H. Palmer tr), Sura 21 - The Prophets)

Fight, then, in the way of God; impose not aught on any but thyself, and urge on the believers; it may be that God will restrain the violence of those who misbelieve, for God is more violent and more severe to punish.

(The Qur'an (E.H. Palmer tr), Sura 4 - Women)

Righteousness is not that ye turn your faces towards the east or the west, but righteousness is, one who believes in God, and the last day, and the angels, and the Book, and the prophets, and who gives wealth for His love to kindred, and orphans, and the poor, and the son of the road, beggars, and those in captivity; and who is steadfast in prayer, and gives alms; and those who are sure of their covenant when they make a covenant; and the patient in poverty, and distress, and in time of violence; these are they who are true, and these are those who fear.

(The Qur'an (E.H. Palmer tr), Sura 2 - The Heifer)

21:80 And we taught David the art of making mail for you, to defend you from
each other's violence: will ye therefore be thankful?

(The Qur'an (Rodwell tr), Sura 21 - The Prophets)

In your behaviour with your subjects remember that you should use leniency and tolerance alongside severity. Be kind, tolerant and lenient as far as and as long as possible but when you feel that your purpose cannot be achieved without severity only then can you adopt such an attitude.

(Ali b. Abi Taalib, Letters from Nahjul Balaagh)

"Before the Hejira, the
Mussulmans had endured persecution without defence; later they put
up a legitimate resistance and when they became victors they
practised tolerance... The idolater was not allowed to remain on
Moslem soil; but the People of the Book both Jew and Christian, by
paying tribute, had a right to protection, could practise their
faith freely, and were considered a part of the community." (
