relative (brother/sister).

2. Time went backwards at first until Jesus was born, then it
started over. So as not to confuse the same year say

3. They are asleep in the grave awaiting resurrection, when
"all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice (Jesus)

the Truth very Perplexing.If the Bible is to Be Believed you would
have to discard a lot of it and pick through it for to find out what really happened.Another thing you would have to throw out is the Virgin Mary Birth of Jesus.There was a Documentary Film made on Jesus Christ and Scientists went to great Lengths to find out about Christs Family.They Reasoned that Christ was the Illegitimate Son of Mary and not necessarily the Son of Joseph.That Mary was about 13 or 14 when she Married Joseph as was the Custom in those Days.That Christ had a large extended Family of Half Brothers and Sisters from St Josephs First Marriage ,that Joseph was old when he met Mary. That Joseph and Mary made the Lie up about Miraculous Virgin Birth to take away the Stigma of Wedlock,and that Mary and Joseph were not alone when they traveled to Bethlehem but came with the relations of Joseph. They got this information from Interpreting Ancient Manuscripts and Scientific
Digs.Bearing in mind that a lot of this Information is Ancient and hard to Discipher and obscured in strange wording we will never discover the real Truth of the matter.It is all very Ambiguous.They Believed it was true there was a Jesus Christ

2) People all over the world and in different eras keep time in different ways. Today we call the time prior to Christs birth BC and the time we are now in AD. Science and non- Christians call those times BCE (before the common era instead of Before Christ) and Common era instead of anno domini/ the year of our Lord). So even now we have two ways of reckoning time.
3) Salvation has always been by faith. The way to heaven is always through faith. read Luke 16
4) God knew that man would need a savior. Read Genesis 3:15
Jesus knew that He would have to die and shed His precious blood on the cross to pay the penalty for sin.

Look for a good indepth bible study in your area. Until then start reading and studying the bible.

2) They didn't call it BC until after Christ was born. Typically societies use the reign of their current king as the start of their epochs. The Christians used what they thought was the birth year of the King of Kings for ours.
3) I don't know why the gates of heaven would be closed, but Luke 16 (as well as other places) talks about a place called Hades, which is (as far as we can understand) a place of waiting.
4) Both. As God in the flesh, Jesus willingly died for the sins of each one of us. It was God's plan to provide redeption for our sins.

I'm Jewish and not religious now, but here's my shot:

1) It's written that the children of god came down and procreated with the daughters of man (Genesis 6: 1-2) . Adam and Eve had more children than are mentioned by name in the Bible

3) Your guess is basically what some Catholics believe - that these people's souls went to Limbo, awaiting salvation. Christ is supposed to have harrowed Hell and brought righteous people from before his time, such as Abraham, into Heaven

4) God is certainly supposed to have planned it (He gave his only begotten son), hard to say if Jesus is supposed to have known or not. His words on the Cross "Eloi, eloi, lama sabachtani?" imply that he didn't. But his divine, as opposed to human, aspect must have known.
