Will vista be compatable with all my old games like battlefield 1942 and half life 2
Also would i be better waiting a month to buy a new computer so that it already has vista installed and i would have to lose all my files after reinstall

I run Vista and my family uses Battlefield 2 and Half-Life 2 with no problems at all =D
You definitely want to wait for the official release on the 30th though, Nvidia hasn't released NForce 4 drivers yet if you use that motherboard type for SLI.

u r afraid to lose ur files?? why??
u can do back ups for ur personal data or burn it on cd or dvd safely
usually most games have "save files" put these files on cd or floppy then when u install vista restore these files to there original location "after installing ur fav. game"...ok
