Not in the same way that milk does, but it can get 'stale' tasting by becoming de-oxygenated and by picking up particles of dust and whatnot from the air (ever tasted water that's been sitting on your bedside table for a week? That's what I'm talking about). And if water has enough organic matter in it (and there can be a surprising amount, even in really clear water) then after a while it can grow gross slimy things and smell bad. This happened with water left for a couple of weeks in a humidifier at my aunt's house, it took a week to locate the awful smell and I gagged when I helped her empty it.

Water does not get spoiled. It gets contaminated. Water is never bad. Only other stuff that is mixed in with the water is bad. That's why you can always purify water and it will be good. Depending on what's in the water, it may not be easy to purify.
The answer is, it gets contaminated, not spoiled.

Yes, it can but it takes a while. If bottled and processed, the manufacturer gives it a shelf life of about 2 years. Take a look at your nearest pond for polluted water. Tap water sitting on your counter will harbour airborne bacteria and it could show up as soon as 2 days if the glass is not clean.

Don't know, but who would ever want to drink water that is standing outside a refrigerator for more than say 10 days. Guess if you had to, you would drink it though, without even wondering.

distilled water is very pure and so will last forever, any bttled water will last a very long time but any organic impuritys will eventually allow spoilage

I don't think that "spoiled" is necessarily the term you would want to use, but it does get gross. Bacteria will get into it that's what makes it bad.
