Not snot, just drool. It seems they do that when they're content.

It is completey fine...I have a Calico and she loves hair, she sleeps all curled up in mine abd likes to chew on it....Sleeping in hair makes them feel content and safe....If you have ever had a cat with kittens the kittens sleep curled up alot of times by the tail, the fluffiest part of the momma cats body and that is why your cat likes your hair, it reminds them of their mom....

she probably has a memory of her mother cat. She thinks your hair is similar to her birth mother and now shes doing that to you because you are her mommy now. Some cats drool as they are in deep concentration or being affectionate. Your kitty is loving you in a yucky to you but loving to her matter.

my 15 lb male is often found laying on my hair at night! He loves hair, he will walk up behind folks while they are on the couch and lick and lick until chased away. I believe it's some sort of preening but I'm not sure in what sense, just one of those comfort things for our kitties! It is gross! lol

it might be that your cats nose is wet or maybe its drooling. it might also be cleaning its paws and they might be wet and the paws get in your hair.
