My hubby and I got married Labor Day Weekend...not realizing it was a hoilday we went to Branson (with very little money in our pocket) tried to rent a room, all the prices had been raised, we arrived at a KOA campground, they had cabins that we could afford, the location we were at were full but the location down the street a few miles had one, we left and headed down there- our name having been reserved on the cabin, only the problem is the the car who pulled in the lot after that also were reserved on the room by another employee at both places. So by the time we got there the other couple got the cabin. We then move on to The Shephard of the Hills campgound; thankfully we had a tent: we paid for a spot, got out the tent only to find that the poles were bent and there were no spikes, we had to go back up to the office and buy rope and string it up to two trees.
I didn't pack towels or other shower things, thinking we were staying in a hotel room. Then brakes went out in the car and we ran out of money so we had to come back early. That was my honeymoon...
This was the second attempt...
We made reservations at The Chateau Avalon, a supposedly nice romantic hotel in our area, to make a long story short...the room and bathrobe to keep were paid for in advance, got there no robe: was going to have to wait: the robes in the room for use while there were wet, toilet seat was loose, large cinnamon roll with breakfast never came, "warm treat" at check in was cold cookie in cookie jar on front desk....after many conversations with management after this all I got was a refund on the robe, they were still sending it to me, it took three months.
So that is the horror stories of both my attempts at a honeymoon.

I have the ultimate wedding horror stories! 1. The pastor FORGOT my wedding! I called him 15 minutes before it started to frantically ask where he was. His reply wasn't reassuring, "What? What wedding? Ohhhhhh.... " 2. It was an outdoor wedding and very windy... my veil kept blowing off. 3. The wind was so loud that neither my processional or recessional songs could be heard. They were both very special songs that meant something personally to both of us, and so I was much more disappointed than I would have been if it was just the Wedding March or something. (We had Green Eyes by Coldplay and then Bubbly by Colbie Caillat). My sisters were also going to sing us a song, Kiss Me by Sixpence, but again, the wind issues interfered. 4. Throughout the ceremony, bees kept landing on me! We had each of our parents get up and say something during the wedding, and at the end of my dad's speech, he brushed a wasp off me and stomped on it... made for some laughter and relief! 5. We had written our own vows, and the pastor switched them on us without realizing. He also lost the order of events we had given him, and I had to keep whispering to tell him what was supposed to come next. 6. All this could have been avoided if everyone had shown up in time to do a quick run-through. I had a PERFECT schedule, but no one cooperated. 7. After the wedding, my throat was so sore from the stress of the day that we just went to Wal-Mart in our wedding clothes to get me some lozenges. It was real life, you know? That's just how it happens sometime. I am happily married nonetheless, and even when everything was going wrong during the wedding, I kept a smile on my face because I saw my best friend and lover and couldn't believe I was lucky enough to find him and actually get to keep him. It still blows me away, and I love him so much!

We had our honeymoon in Tennessee. My husband grew up on the beach so he wanted a skiing type honeymoon. We were scheduled to have our wedding at a chapel on a mountain at 3:30. They called us at noon and asked if we could move it up to 1:30 because there was a snow storm coming. By the time the ceremony was over, there was already nearly a foot of snow on the ground. We had to slip and slide all the way back to our cabin. We stopped beside the road and had a snowball fight in our wedding clothes. lol
We were snowed in for three days, which wasn't all bad ;o)lol. But it wasn't exactly what we had planned either. We never did get to ski because by the time the roads were plowed near the cabin, it was time to head home.

well, its not really a horror story and we didnt really take a honeymooon cuz we didnt have the money, but our weddign night was rather interesting. we called a cab from the reception to take us to our hotel. the cab driver got lost so it took us almost an hour to get to a hotel no more then 15-20 minutes away. the people checking us in didnt even congratulate us on our wedding even though we showed up in our wedding attire. we got up to the room and were going to leave to go to the casino when I realized I forgot my shoes and only had strappy sandles that kill my feet. we ended up having to stay at the hotel all night, I got sick and was throwing up so it wasnt much fun. then the next morning I had to wear my strappy sandles down to breakfast with jeans and a sweatshirt so I looked pretty rediculous. at checkout they charged us to wrong amount so thewy had to go back and fix it all and we were supposed to have a late checkout which we didnt get because they put us down for the wrong package. we still go back there for our anniversary each year, but our stay is always great because at checkin we tell them the story of how they screwed up our wedding night so they make sure everything is great this time around.

Not necessarily a horror story but.....
We went to a justice of the peace in kentucky (live in Ohio), my mother got lost on the way there with my son. I left my $50 bouquett at home in Ohio. Had pictures done at KMart, ate dinner at Golden Carrol, went to the mall, back to hotel, got in the jacuzzi and watched Mike Tyson's greatest fights until we fell asleep. Didnt "consumate" our marriage until the next day! It was a totally boring weekend.
Good thing we love each other. We're planning another wedding next year.

My husband and I were checking our bags at the airport (a two-hour drive from home), and they didn't accept his copy of his birth certificate. He had a photocopy of a certified certificate, not a certified copy. I had tried to explain the difference to him before we left, but he wouldn't listen (he took his mother's word for it, the woman who I don't think had ever flown before at the time). The next plain left in exactly 4 hours, but try getting through St. Louis during rush hour to a location already 2 hours away and back again in 4 hours, yeah right. We didn't get to leave until the next day. We had to make a trip to his hometown to get it. On the honeymoon, he was sick the last couple of days.

My cousin and wife went on their honeymoon. She was a virgin and they used a condom. They used a latex condom when they consummated their marriage, to only find out she was allergic to latex!!!
Needless to say it was a while before they were able to do anything else and she was miserable for most of the honeymoon.

My ex-husband got food poisoning on the 2nd day (I was vegetarian at the time so did not eat the dodgy meat) and I had 2 weeks of bliss, relaxing on my own at the pool, watching films in the cafe at night. I totally enjoyed myself.
