The effects of a hang over can last several days. Alcohol is a toxin and your body has to metabolize the toxin in order for you to feel better. Sometimes alcohol has additives that contribute to the level of your hangover.
The best course of action is not to let a hang over occur. When you go out for a night of drinking. Combine food with your drinks to lessen the effect. Drink lots of water to prevent dehydradtion. And switch to juice or water an hour or so before going to sleep so that you metabolize more alcohol before bed and lessen the chance of a hang over when you wake up.

it will last as long as you're dehydrated. It's more difficult to get out of the hangover when you're body rejects liquids (keeps vomitting).
But, the faster you can rehydrate your body, the faster the hangover goes away.

Most likely two days but on the third day you probably still wont feel the best and be ready to eat everything.

You sound as if you may have had alcohol poisoning you didn't say what type of medicine you took? You should really be careful of what you are really doing to yourself

the longest one that I have had was 12 hours or so. i still felt like crap the next day though.

Depends how much you drank, some people wake up in the morning and are still drunk.
