Ok, here's the thing, we have booked and are due to sail on saturday (jan 6) but all of a sudden I am hearing ALL KINDS of things bad about Carnival. We booked with Carnival because they offer things for the kids. PLEASE PLEASE someone tell me we have not made a huge mistake!!!!!!

You did not make a mistake. Since each ship has a different cruise the activities will vary but there is something for everyone on the ship. We took our 16 year old and 12 year old on the cruise and we had to convince them to see us because they were always busy, either doing some activity the ship had planned or doing something with new friends they made on the ship.
We found the staterooms on the ship we were on, which was one of the smaller and older carnival ships, to be larger then the staterooms on the other cruise line ships we had been on.
The food on the ship was great and we encouraged the kids to explore their palates since the food on the ship is included. So our youngest tried escargot and other dishes that he would have never tried.
So, Relax and Enjoy yourself.

Hey, do not worry, you made the right decision, Carnival is great! We booked a cruise last year and we went to Eastern caribbean. We had a blast. Carnival has a program for children (Camp carnival) and it's fantastic. My niece was so happy, she asked her mom if she could stay after the cruise was over.
As soon as we came back from the cruise, we booked another cruise with Carnival (May of this year) But anyways, why are you concerned? there's always something to do, somewhere to go, etc. Go and enjoy your cruise, it'll be awesome, you'll see. I would be jumping up and down.. come on, you're leaving in 4 days! I'm already excited and I'm leaving 5 months from now. You shouldn't be worry. You won't be bored. Also, Carnival is called "The fun ships" for a reason, don't you think?

You didn't make a mistake. I have enjoyed Carnival very much. The cruise I took this past summer on the Carnival Valor ship was awesome. Nothing to complain about. You can't believe everything you hear, because everyone has different expectations. There is lots to do for kids, they won't be bored. So no need to worry, Carnival is a great cruise line.

I only cruise carnival and I love them. I agree, they are called the fun ships for a reason. Check out cruisecritic.com to chat with other people on all cruise lines and to see who will be on your specific cruise. If you are less than a week away and feeling like you may have made a mistake than you should get off the computer, pack your bags and remember why you booked with them. Every cruise is what you make of it...if you go into thinking you may have made a mistake than good luck...but read some serious reviews of carnival on that cruisecritic.com...they should set your mind at ease.

Its just someones opinion as for the kids they ahve a waterslide at the pool and an arcade and a whole bunch of games and a kids factory that you can leave them there for while you do your own thing. Its jsut as good as any other cruise line except for small differences its a party ship kind of so its genertated towards kids and younger crowds but nothing big and just do your own research and just make the best of it no matter what anyone says they can tell you that your going to have a bad time you just have to do what your going to do and things will fall into plaec.

I've been on 3 Carnival cruises and have had a great time in all of them. Service, ports and entertainment were a good value for my money.

carnival is the best...camp carnival keeps the kid going and in line too ..if you want to really have a good time you will...a cruise is as much you ,as the ship...things are never perfect..but carnival is nearly

i don't think you made a mistake have never cruised with carnival but have read some positive things about them at cruisecritic. you also read reviews at fadors. but you will have a good time .

carnival was great there were a lot of things for my younger sister to do while we were on our cruise at thanksgiving..
carnival is great.. dont let some opinions bring down your trip...

Carnival is pure awful unless you are booked on one of their HUGE new ships. Other than that... bring some activities to keep yourself amused b/c they won't have anything interesting to do. It is an expensive booze cruise.
