I did all this for my boyfriend..now hes my fiance.....
U can try any u like!
Well a rose and a letter of course..but do it deifferently....
Make an aged bottle...
1)I did this for my boyfriend and I's 1st anniversary, He loved it. OK, I got a big glass bottle with a cork on top. You glue sand on the out side, make sure that it looks like the bottle has been laying on the sand for a very long time. and glue shells, sea weed etc. Then some how get some one to draw you. (make sure you like) Then write a nice letter about how you two got together and how you feel now. Then roll the papers up and place then in the bottle. Oh an extra tip.. drop some perfume on the cork. Enjoy!
(since is long distance, this is one way of communication is past..)
Optioanl u could do this...
I sent him a "Care Package". I included some of the following: my perfume, a framed picture, a Hot Wheel of his "dream" car, chocolate hugs and kisses, a "little black book" with my name and number on each page, bandages (for fixing a broken heart), his favorite cologne, 2 vanilla scented candles (because he lit my fire), a tape of songs that reminded me of him, among a few other little things, and I packed it all in a "fan" box ( I had just bought a fan a week earlier). On the front of the box I wrote "I am a Big FAN of Yours!" He loved it all and the day he recieved it he said "I LOVE YOU" and went to tears on the phone!
3)Buy an inexpensive decorative jar or container. Then buy 365 Hershey Kisses, one for every day of the year. On the Hershey paper tabs, write one thing you like, love, or appreciate about your significant other, and only allow them to have one each day for a year. It takes some time and thought, but they will think of you with every daily kiss. This is a great idea when distance is involved, but works wonders at home too.
4)I took an empty champagne bottle that he and I had drank together on one of our visits and took off the paper label around the neck (soak it in water and it will peal right off). Then I took it too a glass cutter. I had him cut the bottle at the neck, right where the paper wrap would be. I then filled it with little trinkets and memories from us - movie & sport ticket stubs, pictures, Hershey Kisses, romantic fortunes from fortune cookies, flower petals, the "key to my heart" (that I bought from this website!), all the reasons why I love him written out on slips of paper, little things like that. I filled the bottle with all those things and then glued it back together with silicone glue and super glued the paper wrapper back over the place where it had been cut. It looked brand new; you couldn't tell it had ever been cut. Then I mailed it to him and told him that he had to wait to break it open with me until the next time we were together. He loved it! We broke it open together the next time I saw him, he couldn't wait!
5)This one i have planned for his Birthday!
My boyfriend’s birthday is coming up and I've been going crazy trying to figure out what to do for him. I finally went to the store and bought a plain spiral notebook and some stickers to decorate it with. When I got home I put a picture of us on the cover and our anniversary in stickers and decorated the rest. I plan to write him a note in it everyday until his birthday. I am also finding things on the Internet that relate to his birthday (i.e. famous people born on his birthday, stuff about his zodiac sign, stuff that happened the year he was born). On the last page I will write him a special birthday message and leave it on his pillow on the morning of his birthday.
6)I would fold for him 365 origami stars and write him a poem to go along with them. It took me about a month to finish it...Part of my poem along with the stars went like this: “Each day I’m with you, I feel like I have captured a star. Throughout those 365 days with you, I have captured 365 stars. You are the stars in my eyes. You are the stars in my mind. You are the stars I keep in my heart forever...” etc. He loves it very much because I’m the first girlfriend to make him feel this special.
7)For Valentine's Day, I really wanted to do something amazing for my boyfriend. I cut out 100 construction paper hearts, and I wrote I love you in 100 different languages on one side of each and a reason why I love him on the other side. I stringed these around and across his room with fishing wire so that they looked like they were floating.
8)bought a key, just a plain key, with no cuts in it. I then took it to an engraving store, and got them to engrave on it, "KEY TO MY HEART." I wrapped up the key, along with a letter just telling him how much I love him, and to hold this key forever, ‘cause no matter where I am, part of me will always be with him, forever!
9)Missing you box...we call it.hehe
My boyfriend and I weren't to see each other for a while, so I decided to give him something special before I left. I got a box for everyday we would be apart. In each box I put in a CD with one song that reminded me of him and why. I put a quote or a poem. I put a task for the day for him to complete like helping with the community or some form of charity. On some days I would put in love coupons, a few of his favorite things such as chocolates, books and some baking items. That way he would have things to do while I was gone. I then topped it all off with a letter. He loved it! When I got home he used the “spend the day together without interruptions” coupon, as well as all the others...U can do it your way adding things he likes!
Okies...hope it helped...sorry friend,my fingers hurt!
Best of luck!! Just run ur imagination and do it with time and heart

You're making it hard with the no money problem....do you have food? If so, maybe you can cook him a nice meal. Dollar stores have 2 cards for $1, so you can get him one for 50 cents. In the card, explain your feelings, explain that you wish you could've done more for his birthday, and express hope that you will get a chance to make up for it on future holidays/birthdays.
