Sometimes I feel a bit out of it and have a hard time concentrating. It's only been 6 days. Everyone says you have to stick it out for a month to get over the side effects and stuff, but I'm starting to feel pretty dumb. Anyone on Wellbutrin experience this?

Yes and it will take 3-4 weeks to get used to it. Are you taking the plain Wellbutrin or the Wellbutrin XL? I have taken both and the XL is really much better and easier to get used to because it has less "peaks and valleys" than the plain Wellbutrin that you take twice daily. The XL is only taken once daily in the mornings.

What you are listing are the side effects of Wellbutrin. However, I would, just in case, write down a list of the things you are experiencing and tell you doctor. Also, if you go the Wellbutrin from a regular GP, I would consider seeing a psychiatrist opposed to a GP since they are better able to handle and help you with your side effects.

I tried Zyban to quit smoking and it and I did not get along. I swore that my house was on fire and couldn't sleep because I was watching to see if the fire spread. It was bad. So I know how you feel. I only lasted on it for 4 days.

All in all, write down all your symptoms and present them to your doctor as soon as possible. Be detailed because perhaps there is another drug that is better for you in the long run. Also you don't want to be uncomfortable when you don't need to be.

I hope you feel better soon and you get this worked out.

While I have not been Welbutrin, I have known others that were. As with almost every anti-depressant medication, Welbutrin takes time to be fully absorbed in the body. Some people begin to show significant improvement in as little as a week and others can take up to a full month. I have been on a few different anti-depressant medications and some have taken effect almost immediately and some have taken up to 3 weeks before I started feeling any different. The best advice I can give would be to keep track of how you react at different times of the day together with the activity you were doing at the time. Then relay this to your Doctor and/or Therapist and follow their advice.

I personally have never taken it, but know someone that did. Yes,the side effects you are experiencing are not uncommon.

If it becomes more than what you think you can handle, talk to your doctor. He/she may lower the dosage or put you on a different med altogether.

My mom had symptoms of heart attacks and was taken off of the med because she has high blood pressure. But this has nothing to do with your situation. What I am saying is if it doesn't feel right talk to your doctor. That's what I mom did and we still have her.

<< ---(((whisper)))And it's hard to sexually climax on it. To the point of frustration. I did not like Wellbutrin I was trying to quit smoking and my doctor gave me the Time release formula. It's been 6 years. I thought was costy and useless.

You should feel better at the two week mark. If not, let your doctor know.
