I wouldn't put her on an actual diet. Also knowing that she has to be on a diet may upset her. Work on eliminating the potato chips, greasy foods, and sugary sweets from your home and replace them with healthier foods. Give her snacks of cheese and crackers, or an apple, or let her make her own sub sandwhich with chicken or turkey breast, a choice of cheese, and any other veggie. Maybe exercise is the way to go if she has already failed the food route. Yoga works.

Well she is only nine so if she gets some exercise(which most kids don't now days) and eats somewhat healthy then she will grow out of it. It's amazing how kids slim up a lot when the hit puberty. My daughter had several friends who where a little thick in the middle. Not fat or obese but just baby fat really. They hit 11 or 12 and suddenly grew taller and much slimmer. I say don't worry too much but make sure she is active and eats her veggies and fruits and be patient. Diets are bad for a girl that young and usually you can't stick to a diet anyway. The only real way is to eat better

You don't really need a plan, just make her eat healthier. Offer more veggies, salads and greens. Do not allow sweets as snacks, and if you must give her a dessert type sweet, try low fat sherbert and the like. Your daughter is younf enough that you can probably introduce these changes slowly, and not upset her at all.

she is only 9 - let her eat whatever she likes. Once she becomes a teen she herself will reduce her extra fat and dont compel her to be on strict diet

Unless your daughter is on the verge on death, please don't put her on a diet. If she has a problem with her midsection go and seek Doctor's advice. You will damage her growth if you put her on a diet at such a young age.

You need to talk to her doctor about this, not yahoo answers. And for god's sake unless you're trying to get her to develop an eating disorder, i hope you aren't calling her fat or telling her she needs to lose weight.
