Wow, what horrible timing. Unfortunately, chicken pox takes a few weeks to resolve completely... if you were planning to travel with him, I'd say no. If you were leaving him with someone you trust that is willing to take care of him, like a relative, he'll probably be fine. And there is a vaccine for it; it's called "Varicella", but they don't usually get it until they are about a year old. Now he wont need it! As long as he's under the care of the pediatrician, he'll be fine. Good luck.

I wouldn't. Get some calamine lotion and dab that on the spots with cotton wool. It helps with the itching. Then wrap them up in some nice clean pyjamas and a duvet on the sofa. It is best that your child has it when they are young, get it out of the way. I don't think a bath will harm them but I don't think the child will feel like a bath. Hope they feel better soon.

Hi, yeah def bath them, no bubble bath tho, put bicarbonate of soda in the bath water. Also get piriton and gave it to them at night to stop the itching, and get 'Eurax' cream from the chemist and apply this couple times a day. My two year old came down with it the day we went on holiday a few yrs ago, and by using these methods we were able to continue our holiday with no problems at all. He also had no scars from the spots. good luck!

Of course. If not, you would have one stinky kid. The "spots" will last 7-10 days. Also, you can by OTC oatmeal wash, it really helps relief the itching. You just put the package of oatmeal wash in the tub and fill it up with warm water, and let the child soak in it.

Yes, use a product called "Oatmeal Bath" and mix it in the water, it will help soothe the itching and irritation of the spots. It will also help them go away faster.

Absolutely - just make sure it isn't too hot or they will be even itchier...try and get some aveeno oatmeal bath or just dump some regular oats into the tub while the water is running & then swish them around before the child gets in the tub. It is soothing.

yeh but only in lukewarm or cold water..nothing to hot as it would cause them to itch. Also dont add anything to the bath wather eg Soaps, bubbles etc as this would irrate the childs skin and have them itching for hours on end!!!
