The Bab to the Bahais is the Mahdi and was a prophet and messenger of God. Most muslims think he is not. What will the Mahdi be to muslims when he appears? An Imman ? No more no less? Will he prophesy? will he rebuke the ways of some muslims? will life on earth come to an end? Any difference between Chriistain last days or end times and Muslim judgement day? Do this times coincide?

In the Name of Almighty God,
Most Gracious, Ever Merciful
Peace and Blessings be upon His Final Prophet & Messenger

The Mahdi is a Wali (Friend of God, Saint) of the highest caliber, but not a Prophet or Messenger. Yes, he will be rejected by many Muslims, especially extremists, while at the same time he will be instantly recognized as a man of God by many non-Muslims who will come to Islam through him. His rule will usher in a time of unprecedented peace and spiritual prosperity. He will also pave way for the rule of Christ Jesus, may God's Peace be upon him, and together along with their supporters they will fight the Dajjal/Anti-Christ and his supporters.

For a good treatment on this topic and to receive answers to the questions you raise and maybe to others that you have, I suggest you read, "The Approach of Armageddon: An Islamic Perspective" by Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani. It is very easy to find. Best wishes to you and yours...

Imam Mahdi al-Qaim is not a prophet or a messenger of God. He cant be as Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the seal of prophets. Muslims only regard him as an Imam (Leader) who will fight the Anti-Christ together with Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and true believers in the end of time. The closest that Imam Mahdi can be is a mujaddid - a saintly figure who is sent by God every 100 years to protect Islam from any corruption.

God knows best.

Peace and Love.

The Mahdi will be an Imam and leader of the Muslims he will not bring a message like a Prophet. Jesus (pbuh) will not come as a Prophet in his second coming but after defeating the Dajjal will live out the rest of his life, marry and have children etc.
