What and color more stupid maps? No thanks.
All that damn coloring and I still have no idea which state is which for the most part. (I too have the 3rd grade test link and have only achieved like 50%) But in all reality who gives a crap. Seriously when I drive to other states I look at the map and figure out my route. Heck now you can go to mapquest and print out the instructions.
Geography to me was nothing but a bunch of memorization usually taught by coloring. (Color the southwest states orange and the midwest blue...blah blah) Its utterly useless as it really carries no function in real world activities. But thats about 75% of educational curriculum isnt it.

I definitely wish I had learned more. My school focused on state geography for half the school year and rushed through world geography the other half for a couple of years in high school. The other years we focused on government and not too much geography. I wish we'd had a stronger focus on the world. It has caused a great deal of voluntary catch up work on my part which caused me to feel cheated on part of my education. I hope this changes and soon.

They had geography when I was in school!!?? :-P

I didn't learn much geography in school, but I studied it on my own. I am very glad that I did. It has proven to be invaluable information in a number of situations, especially if you later study politics, history, anthropology, and a number of other social studies. At the very, very least it will make you look smart when you are watching game shows. ;-)

Yes. I got a funny email '3rd grade test" you put the name of the state over that state. I have yet to see anyone pass it. As far as over seas, I refer to my globe all the time. If your still in school & the rest of your life you will keep learning. Corny but true " Knowalge is Power" Good luck.

No way. I was good at it, but it didn't do much. Especially with the net. If I'm concerned about where something is, I know how to look it up.
