He's not very respectful to you if he is possessive, now is he?

How can he even possibly tell you that other guys aren't allowed to hit on you? You have absolutely no control over that! If you and your ex-boyfriend are truly just friends now, you have to reassure your new boyfriend that he has nothing to worry about. If he still insists on keeping you away from your friend, then he is not the boyfriend for you. He should trust you and your decisions. If he does not, dump him.

He is very scared to lose you. And, even though your xbf and you are still friends, your xbf and you need to sit down and have a chat. Tell him that the new bf is very important to you, and that you want to invest yourself in him. And, that you need to stop being friends for now. Your bf knows how good you are, and he is scared that he isnt as good as everyone else, and there are better guys out there, that can steal you away. And, trust me, it happens at every age. Learn to deal with it now, so it doesnt come up in the future. Tell your new bf that of all the men in the world, you chose to be with him. But, make sure you are with him, because you like him, and not because he wanted you. Tell him what attracts you to him, and reassure him. That should help make him feel more secure. But, also, just remember, ask yourself how you would feel if he was talking to his xgf on the phone? or hanging out with other girls, while you werent around. What if they were cuter than you? smarter? funnier? richer? You might feel the same way he does. Just devote yourselves to making your lives better (education) and sharing a great friendship together. The rest will come in time! Good Luck!

Put yourself in his shoes and think from his point of view. What would you do if he is his ex best friend? And best friend will have long phone conversations, a dinner out together just the two of them and they can even open up and share a lot of personal stuff that they can't seem to talk to their love ones about. SO.. how do you like this? Whatever you are feeling he is feeling the same too.

Well, he is jealous. Ofcourse he will tell you that he doesn't mind you having a guy friends, I mean , he knows that it should be that way, that it is a wright thing. But.. He loves you, and with love ALWAYS comes fear... Fear of possibility of losing you... Know, be honest and think what would you do if you were in his shoes...
His best friend is his x girl, and we all know how girls can pretend... So guys really aren't much better! I mean, he knows of what they are capable.... And believe me, that X of yours... I don't think is only trying to be your friend...
If he calls frequently when you are with your boyfriend, and he knows that... HM. I think he's trying to upset him in purpose...
It's a guy and male ego thing again. You know, who has bigger... But your boyfriend is OK, i think that he may be more tolerant to your X than he should be...
It's up to you know... You can always get back to old friends, but It isn't usually the case with old boyfriends...

PS Maybe you could test your X... If you know how to act a bit, tell him that you broke up with your boyfriend. Watch his reaction. If he wants to use the situation, dump him for good. If he remains a friend, cut your meetings a bit. And make your boyfriend realize that he's just another friend, nothing special. Show him who comes first in your life...
Good luck!

i think your relationship is a bit immature, and to in the early stages to give any kind of predicition if it will last. Yes Hes jealous. But hes in the relationship for the wrong kind of reason, just wanting to be withsome cause he dont want others hitting on u is wrong, thats possesiveness. He should want to be with you cause he likes or loves you. And should have faith in trust in you that you wont cheat or leave him. I dont think either of yall are ready for a relationship honestly.

I'm going through the same thing. I've been going out with my bf for 8 months and we weren't on the same page about what we would do about hanging out with others of the opposite sex. We delayed it, and last night we had a huge fight, he had been sending text messages to other girls who he had been friends with asking them to hang out. It hurt me that I had left all my friends because he was afraid of me leaving him. I let him know from the beginning that my ex and I are still friends. You really need to talk to him. Relationships are built upon trust, and you guys just started going out. He may be a little worried about your relationship with your ex. Talk about your feelings and let him know that what's in the past belongs there. Also talk about where you stand in hanging out with others of the opposite sex. You guys are in a blossoming relationship, so trust me, it does take time to get everything sorted out, but you need to talk these things out. Avoiding the subject only allows for hurt (i.e me). Only you can really judge your boyfriend by the way he treats you. If he's worth it, fight this issue out*, and if he's not worth it, then remember that there's other fish in the sea. I think he's just scared...put yourself in his shoes and try to understand why. Build up your trust. Good luck...

"He's very caring, sweet, respectful to me."

Really? If he is a jealous freak, as you have pointed out - then he is none of those things. Especially if you just STARTED going out. He doesn't trust you, and never will. Guys are usually on their best behaviour when you start dating...so if this is him being sweet, what happens when he's more comfortable??

Have respect for yourself. End it. Bubye.

he probably sees your ex as a threat. You dated this guy at one point and time, and you're friends now. What's to stop him from thining you may date again. You can't blame him, jelousy is a natural feeling. Yes, he might be overreacting a little, but he'll get over it.

It seems that he may have some anxiety issues about losing you. It can be cute for a while but will get very annoying. You should sit him down and talk to him about it and tell him your feeling so that he knows you are not going anywhere.

simply with other ex boyfriends, all guys are alert. They are protective. Doesnt matter of the guy, he could be the nicest and still act this way. Its normal. its a male thing.
