Ok - so I got a text from the ex that says that he doesn't want me to think that I hate him. I text back saying I understand. The last time he called me, he called screaming on my voice mail that I should not ever call him again. I know that I need and want to move on. I've had plenty of time to think about it. Should I never call him again, just to cut my feelings off from him? Was his text a way to open up to me or was it an attempt to clear his conscience.

You don't say what led to the voice mail of him screaming that you should never call him again, but whatever happened - you need to delete his number.

I don't know what kind of person your ex is but this is one of two things, he wants to get a rise out of you or he really doesn't want you to hate him because of the voicemail. Now if the voicemail is something he's known to do, then you should definitely move on. Showing anger like that can only lead to higher forms of anger. But if it isn't normal for him to do that and you really still do care about him, then talk it out and see what happens. Either way, don't just completely cut him off. Take the time you need to think about it, then call him to just either clear things up or to end it for good. If you keep whatever feelings bottled up, they will consume you and you don't want that to happen. When the time is right, call him back and tell him that you forgive him for all wrong he has done to you, that you want to be happy, wether its with him or someone else. Let him know exactly how you feel, no holds barred. It might even be better to ask him not to talk or give a response, just put your feelings out there then say goodbye (if ending it is what you want) You will figure it out, hopefully I was able to help! take care

Next time he calls or texts' you, simply tell him to go to hell and that he's scum. If he's going to act like that then he's not worth the troubles and feelings that you can give out. I'd say hit the clubs with all your friends (Or whatever it is that you do to get into a good mood) and knock that bozo out of your mind with a new refreshing man in your life. ( Although I don't mean sleeping with them of course. I meant find a nice new boyfriend or something. Anyway good luck, and to hell with your Midal-worthy guy.)
