Baked Glazed Ham

Ingredients:
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 6-7 pounds fully cooked -bone-in smoked ham

Glaze:
1/4 cup plum or peach preserves
2 tbsp. orange juice

Preparation:
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine sugar, chili powder, paprika, cumin, cinnamon and cloves
in small bowl. Score top and sides of ham with knife in a crisscross pattern. Sprinkle with spice mixture. Place ham in a 17x11-inch roasting pan.

Bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours until instant-read thermometer in center registers 140. (After 1 hour, cover ham loosely with foil to prevent over-browning). Combine preserves and orange juice in small
cup. Uncover ham; brush with preserves. Bake 5 minutes more. Let stand 15 minutes.

Makes 8 to 12 servings

If its a Fully Cooked Ham whole, boneless 10 to12 LBS, bake the ham in a pan so it doesn't drip at 325 degrees in your oven until the meat thermometer registers the specified internal temperature.(check the label to see whether the ham is a fully cooked or a cook-before-eating ham) If the ham is not marked , use the cook-before-eating temperature and times.which is 160 degrees for 3 to 3-1/2 hours and for a fully cooked ham its 140 degrees for 3 to 3-1/2

This is how I make my hams. I cut the top of the ham criss cross I mix coke (the drink) with brown sugar to make an excellent honey ham. Cover the top with tin foil. Pre heat the over to 350. Cook it as already stated about 20 min per pound. Keep an eye on it and make sure it is not over cooking.

It really depends on the type of ham you are cooking. Some hams are already pre-cooked or partially cooked - it will state this on the label - and only need to be cooked until heated through.
Other hams need to be fully cooked, and need about 20 minutes per pound at 350°. Place ham in a roaster with about 2 cups of liquid (I like ginger ale), cover, and bake until almost cooked. Remove cover and brush on a glaze of maple syrop or liquid honey, melted butter, ground cloves, dry mustard and ground ginger. Finish baking, then remove from roaster, let rest 15-20 minutes, then slice and serve.

is it canned or a proper cured ham? if canned feed it to the dog.
if it is a fully cooked ham you just need to reheat it, if you want to glaze it, choose a syrup (maple, mollassas, sorguhm) or a preserve (i like guava) and thin it with a little rum or bourbon and add a little melted butter and brush that over it halfway through the heating process
heat it at 350 untill it reaches 135-145 near the joint (probe thermometer)
if the glaze has not set and browned heat the oven to 375 for the last five minutes

as long as the meat you eat is above 140 its safe to eat no matter how you cook it. if you have alot of drippings put some slices into that and bake for about 10 min if not nuke it gently it will dry out though. what I do is slice a section down and return all pieces to the roaster for 10 or 15 min and temp the slices if ok pull them out and return the larger section while you eat. remember your temp will increase sometimes 10 degree while you rest it. if you pull it at 130 or 135 and cover with foil and rest in the roaster for 10 min before slicing temp again and you'll find the temp has increased its called carry-over cooking most restaurants rely on this method

I just cooked a ham for Christmas. Although it was a Spiral Ham, I used an Oven Bag......it was so delicious! Various Ham recipes using Oven Bags: http://www.alcoa.com/reynoldskitchens/en/recipes/recipe_search.asp

Another suggestion would be to try cooking it in Coca-Cola. It also comes out moist...my Sister cooks her Ham in Cherry Coke.

put it in a large lidded pan and cook on stove ( medium)or bake in oven on about 400f covered pour a 2 liter of coke over and cover or a can of pineapple juice and 1 cup of brown sugar mixed in . the ham is already fully cooked cooked you are just tenderizing it and giving it flavor so it only takes about an hour depending on size can also use pineapples crushed or tidbits
