I started downloading a torrent on BitComet the other day and got 90% of it downloaded. I shut down and attempted to resume the next day, but all it says is that its uploading the file, while the download stays at 0% activity - how do I get the download to resume, as I don't want to abort when so much of the file is already downloaded

Perhaps no one is seeding, that's what it sounds like to me if you are able to upload. Give it time eventually someone will seed it again.

The above poster is correct. Mostly. Sometimes the file or torrent you are downloading isn't complete . And unfortunately you are left with a download that gets stuck at whatever percentage that everybody else has. This has happened to me a couple of times. They only way this can be fixed is if someone that has that torrent thats 100% complete starts seeding again. Which may or may not happen.

DC ASKER had same problem,i recommended this to him and seems to have no more problems.

It depends who you are downloading it from, shareware maybe.
dont know what download programme you use but i had same problem and couldn't restart it,id waited sometimes for 4 hours and it crashed.again it depends where you getting it from,if it is share ware then there PC needs to be on in order for you to get the download.
try lime wire link.
all of the torrent files seem to come down safely for...90 % anyway.

in case you have 2 drives on your workstation (e.g C: and D:) then in case you place the torrents and all the data onto the D: then format the C: then after thats performed and you nonetheless want to format the D: then you truly progression all of them back to the C: and you may resume them as quickly as you have carried out that! desire i helped :D
